Same resolution doesent mean same graphics.

Every PS360 and Wii U game could be 1080p. With scaled back graphics and/or frame rate.

As I say about every game these days... "Yes, but is it GOOD?". I am old enough to have had fights on the playground over which console had more bits than the other one. This is just as silly, trust me.

As long as the game isn't dipping so low in frame rate that it's unplayable or affects gameplay, it doesn't matter. What matters is if the game is fun/good.

Didn't it seem like the 360 and PS3 were showing their age based on how poorly early games performed and looked? But year after year the games kept looking and running better. I thought Mass Effect 1 was pushing 360 as far as it could go, but then Mass Effect 2 was techinically superior in every way.

I feel the same is happening for 8th gen. Its just diminishing returns on polish and performance improvments. People forget BF4 had a big frame rate dips in larger maps and scaled back effects. Even BF Hardline showed a pretty significant improvment.

720p in 2015 is quite poor to be honest, but sacrifices have to be made. PS4 couldn't do 60fps at 1080p so it's 900p and x1 couldn't do 900p at 60fps and was scaled back to 720p.

And they say that devs aren't being pressured into 1080p. While we already know that the Xbox One can hit higher resolutions, people are somehow stuck in 2013.
