You will be getting consoles that play those games at a decent level for $200 cheaper on black friday and $150 cheaper normally. I'm not surprised the high level pc build is getting more affordable and it's good to see.

BTW you forgot another cost. You need a person to play the pc. People aren't cheap yano!

So true. Better add in the cost of the room to hold it in too and the power to get it all going aswell lol xD.

Don't forget the cost to feed the man and possibly a woman to whisper sweet nothings into his ear.  But if you bring in a woman that could lead to kids and you're opening up a whole other can of worms then.  So make sure to invest in a condom when buying this new PC.

This hobby ain't cheap you know!

Anyway it would be nice if this thread could get back on topic instead of the same few faces popping in to derail it.
This is a pretty good gaming PC for anyone looking to pretty much max out current gen games at 1080P. It should even play lastgen games in 2k or 4k res.

I doubt it, defeniatley not in 60fps

Why AMD? I thought Intel i3/i5/i7 processors were better.

Also, I have a home computer with a intel i5 vPro quad-core processor with 8 GB Ram and Iris pro graphics 4600. Do you think I'd be able to play fallout 4 or not?

In other words no monitor, no OS, no controller, have to rely on mall-in rebates, have to build the actual thing, $150 more expensive, valid only for the US to get to play games at around 50fps.

Console guys...

Dude just stop pitting the two against each other, as I've said already. No rivalry between the two outside of gaming forums.

You are not breaking any news, PC gaming got cheap long ago. As I've already said, semi decent laptops from 2013 with Haswell integrated graphics cards enable access to a large libarary of quality games.

And please, when did gamers on forums care about how much they spend? Gaming is considered an expensive hobby, dismissing anyone trying to tell you that the build in the OP can be more expensive if you add other essential things to it isn't gonna convince anyone out of getting it.

We are not ignorant of how cheaper PC gaming got, people will continue buying either this or that regardless of the list of reasons you and I provide. In ways, consoles will always be superior to PCs and the opposite is true.

I was not the first one to pit the two against each other. Yet you seem to like to try make it look so i wonder why?.

My comments have been in reply to strawman tactics from both you and Alien. Even now you are trying to use a strawman argument to paint it like i was the one who originaly did pit the two against each other when you know that is not the case.

Also why didnt you think of such things when you said that 3rd party AAA devs dont like to optimise for PC??. That comment alone is pitting both against each other.

Anyway im not going to get hung up on this. Fact is this PC can play any game thats out with a very high level of detail and a higher level then consoles this is not pitting the two against each other, but is in reply to a clear lie to a user that said this PC will only play Farcy instincts at less then 20FPS (You know the original farcry port that was on Xbox and X360).

So in reply to such comments i dont see a problem with pointing out a fact that this PC is more powerful then the PS4 the same way PS4 gamers have no problem with saying they have a more powerful console then an X1 player.

But if you feel thats a problem maybe you should enter every DF thread from now on and tell everyone how they should stay quite cos all they are doing is pitting the 2 against each other or even go after the source of bringing the thread off topic in the first place....

So Instead of you going after me or other Pro PC gamers, you should use that time to go after the ones who is derailing the thread by coming up with strawman tactics to do so. After all this is in the PC section...

So like i said, im not going to get hung up on this strawman argument you are trying to make of pitting the 2 against each other, when console gamers if they have no intention and are so negitive about pc gaming shouldnt even be in this thread complaining anyways and thats the main reason i added it to the PC section..

Anyway back on topic.

If i didnt already have a PC id buy this one, except id add an i5 cpu to it and then upgrade the GPU in another 3 years time since then id have more upgrade options with an i5 cpu in the future plus i think the extra cost would be worth it.

I tried to be reasonable to both sides. I am probably the only who mentioned that online is free on PC and that alone saves you $250-300. First few posts were almost mocking any attempt to add costs to your suggested PC build before those attempts were even made. I was not being negative, just bringing balance to the equation.

As for why I think PC/Consoles comparisons shouldn't matter it's because there are barriers between PC and consoles, thick enough to seperate the two, thick enough to justify Steam Machines.

On the other hand, pitting consoles against each other is natural because they compete in the same space. However, PC and Consoles competition overlap in much smaller zones.

As for negatvitiy towards PC gamers.... I am honestly not seeing anything out of the ordinary. This website will always attract a lot more console warz loverz over anything-else loverz, and PC isn't participating in these warz. In addition, does this sales-tracking website track PC sales? Most probably not. There is less PC gamers here because this website is basically geared towards console gamers.

Not to go off topic any further, I think the build your provided is great for the price, thanks.

The computer mentioned at the OP does sound tempting, but if I really wanted to have a good experience on a custom built PC, I'd invest a lot more in making my PC pretty much future-proof so I don't have to change parts until 5-6 years later. And I'm not even mentioning the lack of a screen and OS options.

Living on an island wouldn't make it easier for me since shipping costs tend to be a nuisance when you ship them via airplane (costly shipping method) from the mainland to an island. Especially components that have a considerable amount of weight. And it's unknown if the rebates will apply on the place I live. Still, I wouldn't see it as a worthwhile option when I can play my favorite games on my PS4 without any hassle.

In the end, it's all a matter of choice and convenience to the user.

Doesn't look too bad for me.

I was considering getting a new PC for Fallout 4 but I decided to try it on my current PC (a tad below minimum recommendations) first to see how it worked. Honestly, I'm mostly satisfied with the results and don't feel the need to buy a new PC yet.

I've got an AMD Phenom II X4 940 with a Radeon HD 7850. The graphics card was upgraded a few years ago when my old one burned up. It set me up on medium and it's performed well except a few particular instances where it flatlined to "0 fps". Searchlights, for some reason, seem to be the biggest problem, and possibly waves on large bodies of water. I turned some unneeded effects off and it helped tremendously. I am satisfied.

I'm sure I'll get another PC within the next couple of years, though, or maybe even the next time I see a great deal. Right now, I'm struggling between processors. AMD 8300 series or should I pay the extra for an i5? Do I need an i5? I don't care at all about Ultra settings, by the way. I just want stable frames per second.

I would wait until next year to see what AMD has to offer CPU-wise. There is a large IPC advantage with Intel right now, but more and more games are using multithreading. AMD is supposed to have a large IPC gain with its Zen chips and you'll have a future-proof motherboard (AM4)  with DDR4 support compared to AM3+,and I am sure their prices will be very competitive. It seems to me as if you are satisfied with what you have now, and your GPU is still a relevant one and should play games for quite a while. You might even be able to last until the end of the generation with your PC, considering how you don't care too much about ultra settings.

Thanks for the reply.  Yeah, I got stuck with a lame duck motherboard with my first gaming PC and couldn't upgrade.

Looking forward, the next PC game I want is X-COM and I think I should be already with that on my current PC.  Waiting seems like a good plan.

No monitor, no OS, no keyboard/mouse/gamepad.

Here's how you build a setup that can play Fallout and GTA for less than $500: PS4 ($350) + GTA5 ($60) + Fallout 4 ($60) = A console with both games ($490). Congrats.
