Hmm, the PS4 version looks fine, but what's up with the XBO version? Why is that one having issues...?

Perhaps because of the PS4's faster memory?

"It may only be momentary, but it sticks out like a sore thumb in direct comparison. The cause is also often very self-evident; even with an installation size of 28GB, assets are struggling to stream from Xbox One's HDD on cue. We see noticeable hitches when simply walking around the world - but also just before cut-scenes take place, or switching to a new gun via the d-pad."

"It's worth stressing this only affects a weapon's initial use on Xbox One, and not in every single case. And once loaded, hot-swapping between weapons from there onwards is as seamless as you'd expect."

The true problem is probably Fallout 4's out-dated game engine.  This game started development on last gen hardware.  It has many of the same bugs, though many of them were improved with Skyrim.  I can only hope that they build/find a new engine for the next Elder Scrolls game, assuming it will be begin development with the PS4 and XO in mind from the start.

Well if anyone makes a game that comes close to the freedom and fun of the Fallout games with little to no bugs, then Ill bitch about it...

Oh, thanks for that. I'm kind of surprised the game released with some of those issues. I wondered if they could have been fixed with time, or it's just something outside of their control. If they're using an old engine, maybe it's time they upgrade it, or move on to a new one, haha...

Bethesda should really get a new engine.

No, because what reason will some PC users arise to mock consoles if the game runs equally good on all three platforms?

Seriously though, there needs to be a newer engine indeed. Many aspects of the game still feels like I'm playing Fallout 3. While it might be crucial for devs to retain the Fallout vibe, it isn't worth it if the game still suffers the same problems as the previous ones.

I bet reviewers won't have any trouble giving this game high remarks despite it likely being a massive broken news technically, but they have no issues with lowering scores for Driveclub or MCC because of... Technical issues. Lazy development should always be punished by reviewers, so I hope it will be the case (but I expect it will not).

Drops to 0fps are convenient as they serve as a chance to stop and reflect on how awesome the game is.

Your post deserves a medal

I'm always up for some chocolate medals. :D

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

7.5/10 for consoles and 9/10 for PC, or does PC performance and visuals count for nothing? You can't give both the same score, the PC counterparts (consoles) are worse and you cannot let this slide. Sorry, in this regard, the reviews are flawed.

I somewhat agree with this, if you have different games all with the same issue but one seems to get near perfect scores while others get pulled up more harshly it does call into question how games are being judged.

They can't, their engine is already new since November 2011, and that is Skyrim engine aka Creation Engine, a special engine has modding tool only for PC.
