“Feel the pain… of those Inferior Beings… as you burn in hell!”
Like the first time isn’t enough.. we find a secret way in to the ranch, and this time, we split up into 2 groups: one to fight the boss and the other to deactivate the system. I put 1 healer in each group so I went with Lloyd, Genis, Raine for the boss and Colette, Sheena and Kratos for the other. Another simple dungeon, but the boss is definitely tricky. For once, you are out numbered 3 to 4 and the mini drones do pack a punch. Boss dies from being stabbed by Lloyd and Kratos at the same time and we blow up the ranch

Man, I love that scene. My brother and I still quote it sometimes. Kratos easily became my favorite character after that. The scene only gets better on replays...given the context you learn later on.

The OVA also did a good job with it I thought: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FApOWX751zg

And Fighting of the Spirit is a fantastic track. Downloaded the whole OST just for that basically...hehe.

*goes back to reading everyone's adventure*

Indeed, everything just makes even more sense ;)

Never bother watching in the anime but at least that stayed true to the game :p

Overall, I really enjoed the soundtrack so good choice in downloading the whole thing.

Cloud's Log: Day 9

Hey all! Cloud here again. Welcome back to another Symphonia play thru log. : ) You may have noticed I now include the previous logs above. You can check out my previous logs in case this is your first log you are reading. They can be long though, so you can skip them if you want. Anyways, let's continue the adventure!

Cloud's Side Quests Adventures: Quest 1 - The Unicorn and Battle Against the Wind Summon!

So with the water summon acquired, I can now save the unicorn! But before I do that, I went to try my luck against the wind summon spirit. Before I began that journey, the twin tailed fox AND a sparkly pony came to me and warned me about their supreme power, but ever the daring Cloud that I am, I decided to try anyway. So I made my way to the Mausoleum, reached the summon spirit...

And got my butt handed to me. HARD.

I did pretty well myself, but my CPU partners? They went down fast. Also, it is not a Wind Spirit, but Wind SpiritS!!! There are 3 actually. How unfair. I would smear 1, maybe beat 2, but 3? Not cool game. Not cool... Not willing to give up, I try again, and get beat even harder. I hate to admit it, but that fox and pony were right. Reluctantly, I leave to save the unicorn.

So I reach the unicorn, the party cries about wanting to save it, forgetting we got the water summon to do JUST THAT. But before we do that, we have a funny dialogue, saying a pure maiden has to approach it. But not old lady maidens. Sorry Raine. And Sheena gets upset that no one suggests her, which people respond together with "Qualify...?" It is a really funny moment

So, Collette AND Sheena approach the unicorn, it recognizes Collette as the chosen, and then gives them its horn, to help heal Collette's toxicosis. Buuuut, they use that to help the sick crazy man in Hima. (I called it Huin in my last log. I made a mistake. I apologize...) And then it dies. But don't worry, a new one will be born to replace it, and the next and the following after. I guess phoenixes were no good to use?

But not to forget, Raine learns resurrection, and urges us to search the land for ways to boost her healing powers. ; ) Wink wink side quests???

Cloud's Side Quests Adventures: Quest 2 - The Fakers Found, The Figurines and the Pellets, the Dead Sword Dancer and the Fire Summon! Featuring the Traveling Monster Waifu!

So with the tip Raine gave, I set off to revisit past towns. I first reach Asgard, where I meet the fake chosen group! Finally, sweet revenge. We almost get suspected as being the fakers, but Raine comes to the rescue to prove our innocence, as well as the researcher guy coming to cover for us too. The fakers run, with one of them lagging behind. He was go to be placed in jail, but Collette spares him. How nice : )

We also run into one of the bomb guys in purple. He gives use some figurines and pellets to do something with them... I have to take them to Dirk, Lloyd's dad, to do something with them... And that wraps up that.

I do go to other towns, but there isn't anything worthy that happens.

OH, I do meet Dorrbell's waifu, who is still an ugly monster, and runs away again. How is she still around...? And she drops a key to the Tower of Mana. Um, why did she have that..? Eeer, thanks, convenient waifu monster! See you again someday!!! O:

So, with my work done, I go to see Dirk, who while talking is always stuck in a walking position. He tells me I can use the pellets to make figurines of people, so I can look at them. Um, okay..? So I make some figurines, but none of them are cute girls. Darn... And that is it! I was expecting something more exciting.

So sometime back, I fought an undead sword dancer monster who kicked my butt. Now it's time to try again.

... And he dies really easy this time. o_o Wow, awesome! I got so much stronger since last time! He also dropped me an item, which I have no idea what it does...

I also may have lost to the wind summon, but that doesn't mean I can't try the fire spirit!!! The twin tailed fox and sparkly pony said I would get smushed too, but I don't know until I try!!! So I go to it, expecting the worst, and...

...I beat it!!! There was only one, and my team beating on him senselessly ended his life soon :D He did put up a good fight tho : ) So now I have the fire spirit.

Cloud's Side Quests Adventures: Quest 3 - The Tower of Mana, the Wind Summon Rematch, and Save the ALIIEEEENS Sick Man!

So without anymore leads, I decide to go back to area holding Hima and Luin, and explore the area. Upon doing that, I find a tower in the distance. I run to it, and find... the Tower of Mana! With nothing else to do, I go in it and find this is another summon spirit temple. Awesome! How did I not find it sooner..?

So this temple has a unique function to it. For starters, you have to split your team into 2 teams of 3. You need 3 people to hold switches down to let 3 more advancer further. I chose Raine, as Collette is a requirement. Need a healer after all. So I go in, with new ghosty enemies awaiting us. There also a new element to this temple: using lights and blocks to reflect the lights to specific parts of walls. Kind of reminds me of a Zelda temple x )

Anyways, it turns out, you open a path for your other team of 3 to advance into the temple as well. There are more light based puzzles, until you reach the top, where you meet the next boss. It was a weird horse boss or something.. Anyways, I kill it. The next summon spirit reveals itself, but for some reason, I can't get it...

Anyways, Collette gets more powers, but also now CAN'T SPEAK. Well, just wonderful... I wonder if this journey is even worth it anymore...

Oh yeah! I forgot to mention. I got a book with is needed to save the sick man in Hima. But before I do that, it's time for a rematch...!

I gained a few levels since the last time, so I thought I'd try the wind spirits again. I expected to lose, but I put Raine in my team, and got some surprisingly good results! I was able to beat the 3 spirits, and get them on my side! x ) Take that twin tailed fox and sparkly pony!!! I have to say as well, Raine is actually a very vital character. Her nurse and resurrection really saved our hides in the end, and beating the spirit with the shield really helped us...

So with all that done, I go to Hima, where I heal the sick man, and he is greatful... : D

So with all that done, we can go to the Tower of Salvation, where we can finish the quest...! We get help from the dragon agency man on the mountains to fly there by dragons. But first, we rest for the day, where I talk to my party members, and then, we can take off!!! Interestingly though, you can pick who to share a dragon with. I picked Sheena because she is a girl with nice boobs because pairing her with Raine would be weird... And then, we land! Time for Collette to finish her journey.

Sudden Twist! I AM NOT YOUR FATHER, Collette the Zombie, and Kratos the God of War Traitor!

We hit land, and find Kratos and Collette went on ahead. Collette is already set to offer her final prayers, but we learn, surprise, the church is corrupt, as is Lord Remiel, who is not Collette's father. He just started calling her beloved daughter, after collette asked if Remiel was her father. Both have blonde hair, so it must be true! Imagine if Collette had purple hair or something... Also, Remiel gives away he is evil, talking evily all of a sudden. Wow dude, subtle much? he also reveals Collette will become the vassel for Goddess Martel, and the angels are a bunch of bad doods (and half elves...?) Opposing Remiel's evil plans, we decide to fight him and beat him down.

After the fight, Kratos reveals he is also an angel, and evil D: Oh nooo... Maybe next time people should do background checks before hiring mysterious mercenaries? So yeah, we have to fight Kratos too immediately after Remiel. He is hard, and my team is worn out, but thanks to Raine, we win some how.

Then after Kratos is defeated, ANOTHER angel appears, the leader, Lord Yyadrasial or something... and then WE FIGHT HIM! @_@ 3 fights? No mor... We lost almost immediately... Not to mention we do about 1 damage each?

So finally we are put down, and are about to die, when suddently, evil Desians come in and save us. Hum, that is a surprise...

Later, we wake up in the Sylvarant base, waay back in the desert, where Lloyd was captured. However, it turns out that these guys are NOT desians, but renegades who oppose the desians, and want to stop the Chosen from becoming Goddess Martel's vassel. Though, why do they dress like bad guys? And why couldn't that have told us that way before the journey? You know, like... "Hey doods, this journey is a trick made by the angels and you're being played?" instead of acting evil? Ah, video game logic...

Seeing as Collette is a zombie, it is too late to stop the the evil angel's plans... or is it? For some reason, Lloyd can still help them somehow, but don't say how or why, and act evil again, trying to capture us. Can't we talk about this..??? So we escape, and.... that's it! We stopped there.

It's the eeeeeeeeeeeeeeend!!!

So yeah, this wraps this log. Sorry this was so much to take in. I did way more than I should have... Anyways, thanks for reading, and see you next time!!!

Also, a question to my fellow let's players!

Who did you choose to ride with?!

I picked Sheena. What say you? : )

Your updates are crazy Cloud. For the record I'd pick Sheena too, she seems the most interesting of the bunch!

Here's a little graph from Platina to show visually how we're all doing.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

The Cloud Log Database : [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]

Cloud's Log: Day 10

Heya all again! It's Cloud, and this is my 10th log in the play thru!!! (party) Can't believe I wrote 10 of these, and people actually read them. Well, um... I got nothing whitty to say here, let's start....

Escape From the Castle Secret Base

So last time, I was saved by the unlikely renegades posed as desians, but they also want to capture me again. I am so confused. Why do they want me? D: (Even Lloyd comments on this). On the run, we dive further into the base, where we have to solve various puzzles, which revolve around moving blocks, powering things on, turning switches, and a lot of backtracking. My party does reach an agreement that the best plan of action would be to escape from Sylvarant and go into Tethe'alla, the hidden 2nd world. So... we go do that, but how?

Well, if we can cause a distortion or something, we can cross into the other world. To do that, we steal their flying jet machines of course! Apparently, everyone merges with Lloyd, and we hop on one I guess... Oh wait, nevermind, the next scene shows them all riding one. I guess Noishe was riding one off camera too. How does a weird furry rabbit dog pilot a jet machine anyways...?

So out party is shown escaping the base on flying machines, when shortly after, they run out of juice. Turns out they run on mana, and this world is almost out of it, soo... they fall to their death they crash down, but don't worry, everyone is okay!...Somehow... Oh yeah, when they fell, they fell into Tethe'alla, somehow. And Genis let out the most life threatening scream ever, when they fell.

Genis: Aaaaaaaaaauuuuuhhhhh..............????

Awakened In the New World

So, um, we're in the new world. Somehow.... It doesn't explain. We're just there! And we ditch the jet machines. Okay...? One of the most alerting new things in this new land are the new enemies! Yeah, they are so new, and... are recolor bad guys... I guess bears are white and rabbits are brown in this T world... And also, new music! It's actually really good. Aside from the beginning of the new battle song sounding like the opening to power rangers, it's pretty good.

Also, there are new continents. And, somehow noiche is with us, as he appears in a cutscene. How the hell did he get there...? Anyways, I explore this new world, finding the monument rock, a few cutscenes, and a house of guidance (not house of salvation). However, it doesn't have anything worthwhile there, and the inn  costs 600 gald. What the hell??? Even the next town's inn doesn't cost that much (but we'll get to that later). Church's here are cheapscates...

Megatokyo Meltokio, the Land of Riches AND Slums, Lator Gator Sheena, and Here Comes 2 New Challengers!

After some time exploring this new world, I finally find a town, Megatokyo Meltokio, a very rich looking area. This is where Sheena leaves the drop, but not without giving us a letter to give to the kind. So you dang well know we will make sure the king gets it... But first, I explored every nook and cranny of the town, talking to all the people and their dogs, and looking for all the good loot and wonder chef! Oddly enough, on the left side of town is the rich side, and on the right is the poor slum sides. Crazy how this place has both extremes in one city. I figured a rich town wouldn't even have a poor side...

Anyways, after I clean out the town, I meet Zelos, a pretty boy whose brain is located between his legs! O: He pretty much hits on anything that has T and V and treats the guys like trash. Anyways, zombie Colette bumps into him, which all of Zelos's floozies rag on Colette, while Zelos tries to hit on her (Ew, Colette is like...15 compared to this old man) Being a zombie of hurculan strength, she tosses Zelda Zelos, into the sky, in a slow, awkwardly mannor... Zelos can't be mad at anything with the Vagaygay, and even tries a move on Raine, which she copies Lloyd's "Give me your name, and I'll give you mine" line. (Good one Raine!) Then Zelos just leaves I guess...

So, the party tries to meet with the king, but the king is sick, and won't allow anyone to see him. The guards tell them to see the head priest, who might know what to do, and then the guard have a shift change... Okay..? With nothing else to do, we go to the church and talk to the priest, who said someone will take sacred wood to the king, which the party thinks "Hey, let's deliver that wood!" Then a cute girl with pink hair comes with said wood. She is tasked to deliver it, and Genis is infaturated with her, getting all shy and gittery, haha.

So we follow her and ask her to let us do her job. Now, let me say how stupid this plan is. "Hey, girl! You don't know us, but let us take that piece of wood to see the king! We have to save our friend! Please!?" Strangers who could be bad guys, or assassins? But sure, let's trust them. So Lloyd and Genis try to pick up the wood, but both are unable to lift it, which Presea, this new girl, can move it with ease. Lloyd then delivers one of the best lines in the game, something along the lines of their manhood being brought into question.

Presae lets us accompany her willingly somehow, we get in, and now we take her with us. Presea is really chill about going around with total strangers. Also, she has the same zombie look as Colette, so I guess she can't think rationally. Also, isn't it strange that a group of kids are just running around a castle? Kinda weird, doncha think. I would raise an eyebrow if I were a guard, but no one sure cares...

After some search, I break into the king's room, knocking out a guard (Nice first impressions Lloyd). We crash into a meet with the king, Zelos, and some other nobody people. We tell them we are from Sylvarant and we have a letter from Sheena, which the king takes, and makes us wait in a room.

After an hour, a guy and some soldiers come in, telling us they're going to kill us, since Colette's presence threatens their own world's being... (Sylvarent and Tethe'Alla fight for the mana distribution). Somehow Raine makes a deal to have them spare us and help us save Colette. And Zelos will join us to keep tabs on us. So with Zelos on our team, we make a truce and try to be friendly with each other, and Presea joins us, cuz... what else is she going to do...?

And then we leave Meltokio to carry our first task of crossing a bridge. But, we will do that next time...

It's the eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeend! See ya next time when we continue, and thanks for reading : D

Sylvarant Chapter | [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]

Tethe'alla Chapter| [Chapter 7: Tale of Two Worlds]

Tales of the Truth
We wrap up a few things in Hima and head off to the Tower of Salvation. Kratos leaves first with Colette so we get to pick between 3 people to raise friendships.. In order to distribute the Friendships (need to raise Zelos up), I choose Raine because the others are super easy to increase. Anyways, we enter the Tower and we learn a lot of things about the plot of this game.. Cruxis is the angel organization and controls the Martel Church as well as the Desians. The Martel Church is their front to control the world, while the desians do their dirty work, which is controlled by the Five Cardinals (we already took out a few during our ranch destruction spree). Remiel is not Colette’s father and wanted to control Colette in order to betray Cruxis and to take it over. However, we learn about his plot too late and Colette turns into a robot (in a sense)

Beat the Angel! Wait, and another.. and another?!
So, boss battle time! We take out Remiel quite easily and he dies. However, we learn that Kratos is actually one of the 4 Seraphims that lead Cruxis. Beating this second battle is optional, but I still managed to take him even though it was the closest battle I had in this run.. Kratos likes to combo Light Spear into Fierce Demon Fang and that combo hurts a lot when you don’t guard properly. He casts Grave and Thunderblade so that was terrible when he teleported in front of my healers and we were all caught in one spell. After he is down, we meet Yggdrasil, who is the grand leader of the Cruxis and one of the 4 Seraphims like Kratos. We battle him and get crushed like normal. It’s impossible to win this battle, so there is no point in doing much especially when your attacks do 1 damage. He pulls out a fancy sword and uses it’s magic to hurt Lloyd real good. As he is about to deal the final blow to your party, the Renegades under Botta come and save you.

To Tethe’alla!
We learn about what is happening from Yuan and Botta but decide that we do not want to side with them so we run away! We steal rheairds (flying planes) and teleport to the second world, Tethe’alla! They run out of fuel so we crash land on Fooji Mountains. We then head to the Kingdom Capital of Meltokio and meet Zelos, Tethe’alla’s chosen. He’s really lame and is Kratos’ replacement but I don’t like him. In order to save Colette, we give up on the Sylvarant generation so Zelos joins us to keep tabs.

Off to Sybak to learn how to save Colette!

Recap:
We learn a lot about the two worlds Sylvarant and Tethe’alla and learn about Cruxis, the organization that controls the worlds.

Duration:
~ 1 hour

Favourite Song: Beat the Angel

Zelos is a Kratos Replacement so his moves are basically the same as Kratos

I also finally beat Red Light Green Light from that Katz to gain a title for Genis. This game is extremely hard and I still lost multiple times even when using an exploit to beat it :/

Cloud's Log: Day 11

Heya, Cloudman here. It's been awhile since the last log. It's been a bit difficult to sync play times with my fellow players, but we are still going strong, and here is one of the logs...

The Pointless Bridge with Obnoxious Kids, and the Rich Academy Place

So last time, we left off at the bridge, and now, we are going to cross it! And this is one of the most pointless things in the game. The bridge is just one really long path of walking up. I felt as if I spent a minute just holding up right walking through the bridge. It is long and unnecessary... but not entirely. There is one thing you can do here, and that is a mini game.

On the bridge, there is a kid you can talk to, and he asks you to play a game with him, "Red Light Green Light" This is one of the dumbest and most raging mini games I have played. Everyone knows red light green light, right? You move when it is green light, and stop when it is red light. Easy enough, right? Well, the problem is, is that you have to mash the A button to move forward. And you must compete with other kids, who move faster than you, and can bump into you and push you back. These stupid kids are so broken, always moving faster than you, and zigzagging everywhere, while I mash the A button, failing to pass stupid children.

After a couple of attempts, I beat it!...and moved on to level 2, which I lost immediately. So I quit the game, now hate red light green light, and want to skin these kids alive and hand their bodies over the bridge.

After finishing the bridge, I made it to a town, Sybak, a town with very rich music and studious school brats. I come here to find a way to help Colette become human again, and not a creepy zombie. I talk to a couple of people, going around town to find a key crest, go back to the lab area , fix up the key crest, and give it Colette. Unfortunately, it doesn't work, and Colette is still a zombie. Without much else to do, we are set to leave, when guards come and arrest us for plotting treason or something, and Raine and Genis are actually half-elves, and not full blood ones. And in Tethe'alla, half elves are treated as lowly criminals.

The Pointless Bridge Returns, and Colette Returns?!

So Raine and Genis get taken away, and we are sent to jail. Luckily, we are able to bust out, thanks to a secret passage way provided to us by other half elf people in the room. With our party free, we make chase to the bridge. To our surprise, they begin raising the bridge to close us off, but we make a run for it and fall and die, but luckily Sheena uses her water summon spirit to save us. Awaing us on the other side are guards, who we get to beat up this time ; )

With the guard defeated, we saved Raine and Genis x ) But now, we are wanted criminals. Our next plan of action: go back to the mountains to get our flying machines back. As we make it back there, surprise strikes, and our party is caught in a trap, set up by the renegades. Also, this weird lady with metal wings comes. She plans to take Colette away, while the renegades will take Lloyd away. However, as Colette is about to be taken, her inner human awakens and she returns to normal! Yay! She also falls over and break the trap. Oh Silly Colette... Freed at last, we fight the weird metal wing lady, and beat her up. Kratos also shows up apparently, and they all run away... Okay...

So, with the flying machines gone, all we can do now is go back to Meltokio... So we go there, and find we can no longer go inside, since we are wanted criminals. However, stupid chosen man Zelos has a plan: Go through the sewers on the left side. Funny how there is a big opening in the sewer to allow people to sneak in and out, and the guards do nothing to stop you. I'm pretty sure they can hear your whispers, seeing as that is how they heard Zelos was going to betray them or something... Selective hearing I guess.

Anyways, this ends this log. That's the eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeend.

Next time we'll on the sewers, definitely!!! x )

...aaaaaand I'm back.
Reckon I'm hopelessly last compared to all others, but now I am starting my Tales of Symphonia playthrough.
The reason being this late, is playing Tales of Zestiria first.

Jumping from Zestiria (ps4) to Symphonia (ps3) I expected the game to feel pretty old, but it feels surprisingly fresh.
This is my first playthrough of ToS and it soon becomes obvious that it is indeed a tales of game. I often dislike male protagonists in the series, but this one is not too bad I think.
The game seem to contain a bit more puzzles than the newer games, but the puzzles encountered so far have been easy.
I was slightly surprised at the desert prison, it felt like I had not completed the last puzzle to 100%, but still I got a cutscene and got out of the prison.

Now I am about to enter the Fire temple.

The fights this far have been easy and I have not been grinding at all.
The story, characters and the general feeling of the game is very much tales of and I am enjoying my time.

Nice comments. Glad you're enjoying it! I think Leadified is at roughly the same area so, it's OK (see charts above).

Also you'll be glad to hear your comments have made Aramdongamer happy for a change. So, good job.

Welp. I was supposed to do updates like everyone else is doing, but i was without a computer and am now way behind :P

because of this, i'm probably not going to catch up, but i'll attempt to just restart from where everyone else is updating at.

Sweet :)

I skipped reading updates from others to avoid spoilers, but checked out the graph now. And indeed it looks like I'm pretty far behind most of you guys. (guessing there are some long acts coming up ahead)
