Welp, I started mine as well and stopped at Dirk's House, where I prepare to leave for the journey...

As for me and this game, I played this long ago on the Gamecube, and like many early fans, it became my instant fav. I have played other Tales games, but this one remained on top. However, I only played it that one time, so I just accepted that it's great. So playing it again, I may change my mind on that.

My overall thoughts on it, so far it holds up pretty well for an old GC game. The models look good, the buildings look good, and everything runs great overall. Sometimes though in cutscenes, the game looks very blurry, like it hurts my eyes... Also, voice work is great : D

Gameplay, it plays like the Tales games, but this one shows its age. The combat feels a bit basic and quite flat, like 2D-ish. Characters only stick on a 2D plane and you have 1 special move. So many times I was just pressing A to kill the baddies. Felt a bit simple compared to the other Tales games, but I'm sure it will pick up.

The story is cute, 3 kids in a village, and one of them will start a journey to regenerate the world. You fight some monsters, some soldiers and have a good time. Small dialogues also chime in from time to time, but from playing other games, I really wish they were voiced...

So yeah... So far, so good. That's about it for me. Will continue soon.
