The adobe report you posted in the other thread stated something about spending expected to be up 14%, which is nuts.

25% up YoY on Thanksgiving
12% up YoY on Cyber Monday expected

~15.5% up YoY for the whole BlackFriday weekend (Thanksgivig - Cyber Monday)

The Thanksgiving increase seemed crazy to me, but so many of the deals started early. With this new trend and the rise of Cyber Monday, tracking the weekend might be the new standard.

i just did the math
total weekend would be up 15,5% according to theire estimate under the assumption that saturday and sunday won't be any big impact on the change...

6.45 billion 2014 total online spend (Thanksgiving, BF and Cyber Monday)
7.45 billion 2015 total online spend (Thanksgiving, BF and Cyber Monday)

*not that this is not pure console or electronics, but all goods

I guess the great outstanding question is how much of this is purely additional sales and how much of this is the transition from brick and mortar retail to online sales.

I remember some horrible pr from Sony last year saying something like they were #1 in Amazon for an hour or something like that in their NPD statement. Guess even the big corporations are watching Amazon like we are.
