As long as it's fairly easy to get a match going, that's a decent server size.

The game is nearing two years old. Thats am eternity in the life of an online shooter.

Anyway, TF is always active on consoles and always has been. The only pople who argue otherwise either dont play the game or want it to fail.

The game was a great success for EA. They have multiple games in the Titanfall universe in the works right now.

*Looks at Counter Strike, Black Ops 2, Team Fortress 2.... Yeh 1 year and 8 months is an eternity....*

While you're wasting time looking at some of the all time most popular shooters and completely missing the point, mind looking at the sea of hundreds of other online shooters that have come and gone? Thanks, friend.

A game that's only 1.5 years old ought to be active. That said, these days games get 'old' really fast...

Yeah this is more or less a thing with games in general, to us 4-5 years ago feels like an eternity ago, I mean 5 years ago we got Fallout New vegas and we're only now just getting a sequel to 3 which was way back in 08. When it comes to MP only games 2 years feels pretty dang old, especially when you've got all sorts of other online shooters coming out and the amount of people that hop from one to the other, I treat online shooters as if they were mini cruise vacations where I play them for a few weeks to months, a new shooter comes out and then I hop off that boat and onto the other.

You're also right about TF on the console side, definitely more players than on PC, I figure the PC players went fof towards other games and generally it wasn't well played by the PC community from launch when I watched the platform over the weeks since it launched.

Also don't you mean Respawn?, I mean they made the game, I thought they also owned the IP with EA just publishing it?.

On PC the game is Origin exclusive, which immediately neutered a ton of sales. PC market is way different, people flock to a small handful of games and thanks to mods and free updates will play those games for years. That doesn't happen on consoles, very rarely. To remain very active coming up on two years after release is a great accomplishment. Of course, it's Titanfall, so unless it sold 30 million and has 50 million people actively playing, it's a failure to most gaming forums.

There's a newly formed studio making multiple Titanfall mobile games in different genres, and there is apparently a free to play PC version in the works, which will likely end up on Steam as well as Origin. TF2 is coming next year, all the mobile stuff in the works says to me that Respawn and EA are planning a huge marketing barrage for the sequel. It has never been confirmed yet but my guess is it comes to all platforms.

It's dead on PC, the most i've seen on is 2200 at any time. Also Attrition is pretty much the only game mode anyone plays, which is boring as hell.

Yep Origin only killed it on PC. I play nothing but Last Titan Standing which is the 4th or 5th most popular mode and still have no trouble getting full matches quickly on Xbone.

It really is a fun game. I haven't played it since launch, but I really enjoyed it. I'm excited for Titanfall 2.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

Honestly would have thought it was higher than that

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

I think Titanfall suffered from EA's financial crisis. I doubt they normally would of sold off a massive new IP's first installment as an exclusive had they not been in the mire at the time. The game was super short at launch and had no single player, the dlc did somewhat make up for it but really should of been in the game to begin with. Titanfall 2 could be a massive seller given the right time and budget from EA.

EA doesnt own the Titanfall IP. The Xbox deal is actually what prevented Respawn from having to sell the IP.
