Forums - Gaming - Fallout 4 PS4 Screenshots

Bethesda's games always look outdated. Fallout 3 looked like an HD XBOX game and this looks like a 1080p PS3 game.

What a ridiculous exaggeration.  There is a MASSIVE difference between being okay with something like Fallout 4 graphics and "not caring" or prefering pong.  I hate those kind of all-or-nothing fallacies.

Besides that, the idea that improved system hardware only benefits graphics is silly when the benefits to gameplay are far more meaningful.

Just as reidiclous as those stamping down on others for appreciating higher visuals if we wanna even things out.

I never said sysem hardware benefits only benefit graphics, they can ebenfit both but I appreciate both good visuals and good gameplay rather than just gameplay.

This is what you said:

dunno why you wanted a current gen system if you didn't care about visuals

Which sounds like you're saying there is no other reason to buy a current gen system other than improved graphics, whether you meant it or not.

Also, it's completely viable to want improved graphics over last gen and still be satisfied with Fallout 4 level graphics in an open-world game.

Mind you, tried to find the most "open-wordly". Games that could rank up more than 50 hours of gameplay.

See, that's the problem. If you're comparing graphics only, you compare them to the best you can find, not something similar. What open world games lose in graphics, they may make up for in other areas, but the graphics usually suck compared to other games released in the same time period. And often they are comparable to relatively old games.

Now if you're comparing whole games and not just graphics, comparing to other open world games is OK. But purely graphics? No, no, no. And even if you disagree with me, I never said anything about open world. I said graphics, I didn't limit it to other open world games.

Oh look, people complaining about graphics again what a surprise, /s

It looks ugly. Why are they posting PS4 screenshots? AFIK fallout 4 has Xbox One marketing partnership? Does it look even worse? Damn.

Well then, let's try it the other way then. Can you find a game that supports your claim of early seventh gen games graphics being similar to Fallout 4?

As long as it runs stable, I'm good with the game.

Last I checked both marketed those systems for visuals, media outlets talking more about 1080p/60fps and visuals along with styles and improved graphics overall. I've seen far more talk on visuals this gen than actual gameplay.

It's still viable to want improved graphics over last gen and wanting more out of Flalout 4, the point is some here are saying "b ok with fallout 4's current visuals or you're a spoilt shit", that's the point you aren't actually getting, you're saying it;s only viable to like what Fallout 4 is currently, not what it could have been, that's what some other folk are trying to point out but again they keep getting stamped all over by the "graphics don't matter" crowd who clearly do care about visuals.

It doesn't look impressive that is for sure, but the last two games were equally unimpressive.

That didn't really lessen the experience in those games for me, but the bugs and glitches did. As long as everything works as it should in the game itself, I am not that bothered.
