First, these are drawings, not actual people. There is no victim and any "age" is assigned, not inherent.

A drawing of a girl with small breasts and minimal curves can be "12" or she can be "18" depending on a whim. The inverse is also true. What we're talking about is pure fiction.

Now, that being said, there are always people looking to attack over any perceived impropriety. Because of that, I don't blame Nintendo. They have to protect themselves first and foremost.

The best way around this, usually, is to simply change the age. That doesn't always work, of course, and depends on the story itself, which should take priority. If you need the girl to be 13 in the story then she should stay 13. If not, change her age and leave the mature content in. I can't speak for this game, however, as I know nothing about it.

For all you know a pedo could use it as inspiration to act it out. I am willing to bet it has happened. They should not under ANY circumstances be placed in the sexual context

Wouldn't that apply to any depicted illustration of a crime?  Why are we watching movies like Robocop when for all you know some psycho could use it as inspiration and act it out?  Scary movies would definitely be out, it's like a how-to handbook on how to murder young adults.

The issue with sexual content and innuendo and fictional characters is age is what ever the creator says.

Could have a fully developed physically character and say they are 7, or have a child like character and say they are 700. This has happened in the past where character are aged up for western games or ages are removed completely.

I am not in favor of censorship. I agree with rating systems and restrict access real life minors have to certain content though.

That's what i like with the latest censorship law in japan. Banned content is not completely banned, it's just restricted to 18+.

I agree with you on the rest of those. But under aged people just should not be placed in a sexual context.

Similar thread. What is considered child abuse in most places is not in Japan. Japan is a more mature country though, in that they can easily deal with sensitive material. So I think it is wrong to block their ideas.

I think western countries are too hung up on random things, and middle eastern countries and China have it worse.

In some ways I think Japan is more advanced then western countries, especially for societal issues.

But R rated horror movies are okay from this rule. That Maud de Boer-Buquicchio complains about. So "extreme child pornographic content" is horrible. But extreme gore is fine for R rated movies. This is were the logic starts getting stupid. The "extreme child pornographic content" is for adults. NOT MINORS. The children they are trying to teach the right and wrong to, aren't ALLOWED to see this content, in the first place. So either: say you don't want free speech. Or you just consider everyone pedophiles, Maud de Boer-Buquicchio.

By their stance. I could get a jack hammer, and stick it in a vagina of a woman, for a horror/porn movie. Turn it on. And we can watch in 300FPS slow-mo glory of her insides getting ripped apart. Her horrific agony, front and center, in your 7.1 sorround sound speakers. On the top of all the sexual undertones. And this is totally fine. Because of the context it's in. But lolicon is real. And should be banned.

Why?  People shouldn't be murdered but we don't mind acting that out.  People shouldn't be raped, but we don't mind when that's in movies.  What is so different?  Hell you can kill a kid in a movie which should be thought of as worse, but again that's no problem.  The reason we don't mind depictions of heinous acts is that noone is actually getting hurt, wouldn't the same apply to fictional characters created via illustration or computer modelling?

For all as you know Rambo was the reason someone grabbed a gun, and killed people. Let's ban those! It was Silvester Stalone's fault, no wait, the writers. They are the horrible murderers! Next up, you'll be saying GTA V was the reason shootings happen....oh, wait. That already freaking happens in the news. What do all those asses say what should get banned?

Respond to this picture. If you don't know what's going on, in this episode of the simpsons. You'd think this episode is teaching pedophila. It comes down to context. This is all fictional. And aimed at a certain age group. Should this episode of the simpsons be banned. Because a child could accidently see it and think sex with a child?

No
It's fiction, which means it's also.. http://i.imgur.com/DHGeQiV.jpg

Why would I censor it? Up until a few months ago I was a minor, and as a minor I found other like-aged people sexy as hell. Why deny other minors to get to see sexy-dressed digital guys/girls? XD Its just old people who find it offensive because they think its aimed towards them for some reason
