Forums - Nintendo - Kimishima believes Nintendo will exceed DS/Wii Era profits within 3 years

Do you think what Kimishima says is possible?

Yes, i have faith in Nintendo 69 22.77%

No, Nintendo will never r... 76 25.08%

Maybe 58 19.14%

Depends on what the NX will be 75 24.75%

Depends on their mobile strategy 25 8.25%

Total:303

That's ambitious - specially if mobile is big part of it, considering that barely anyone has more than 1 "it prints money" game.

Kimishima seems very ambitious

That's very good! Imagine if that ambition can translate into games... oh god!

Hmm, clearly, the must have something in store to make quite a bold and ambitious statement.

I doubt they could pull it off, but I hope I'm wrong.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I think it's possible, but not likely. Obviously Nintendo is expanding its business, but the timeframe and their last few years' bad track record makes odds play against Nintendo in my book.

Pretty much. And not just because of mobile. Because of everything. If they do everything I think they will, Nintendo is going to be titanic in a few years. Bigger than they've ever been before.

They can't go deeper than now.

Hahaha.

You'll just wait and see. Right now they're just about to get their ship to harbour in England.

I vaguely remember reading something like this a little while ago concerning Wii U and 3DS.. and we all know how that turned out.

But I digress. If Nintendo do indeed expand beyond simply gaming then yes they could make a lot of money.
BUT THEY NEED TO BE AGGRESSIVE! Something they have not shown in a long while.

This is a projection coming from the same man that told Nintendo the Wii U would struggle mightily. If this were an Iwata prediction I'd be skeptical, because he did watch over Nintendo during the Wii U's development and that tremendously hurt his stock with projections. Kimishima is a businessman through and through, though, and because of his knowledge of the market (most importantly his history with the US market), I fully believe this is a possibility.

This projection has me genuinely excited. I was skeptical at first before I learned more about the man, but Kimishima was the right person to fill the gap for five years or so. Now we just have to see if these come to fruition; if they even come close, both Iwata and Kimishima deserve praise for (respectively) beginning to pave the road and leading the company down the path back to true success.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

I'm sure they have other stuff up their sleave but they could quite easily make these predictions with only their mobile devision being responsible for serious growth, of course their handheld and Consoles would presumably be more profitable in 2017/18  versus now with the dead Wii U and declining 3DS sales.

Dead Wii U... I don't know. It still sells. Not much, but it sells. It barely has a pulse.

Perhaps the more accurate term would be : The Wii U is on life support.

Anyway, Kimishima could be right. Nintendo has proven analysts and the like wrong before. I am sure they can do it again.

This is wishful thinking...

I seems good that they have confidence in what they are doing at least.
