I've loved every Retro game to date...
If it's Metroid Prime 4 I'd be over the moon...
Donkey Kong wouldn't be my first choice right now, but I know I would enjoy it...
A new IP would be really cool...
But we know two things...
They do Metroid very well and they do 2D very well...

I already listened to this podcast like one or two weeks ago and I got there by VGChartz so this news has been reported twice...

what about that 2.5D Metroid that we were expecting on the 3DS by Next Level games ? couldn't it be something similar ?

You know, I was furious to them at E3 2013 for making TP instead of a big AAA game. A lot. I mean, I complaint about it on videogame forums even after E3 was finished. Then I played the game and I realized that, if Retro makes a decision, it's because there's a reason for it. They made Tropical Freeze because they felt that what they did with Returns was not even close to what they could do with the DKC franchise. So they made another one to fix that. And they basically proceed to close my mouth and made the best 2D platformer on videogames history (personal opinion, of course...).

So, at this point, I don't care what Retro is doing. New IP, another DKC, Metroid, another Nintendo IP... It's gonna be great, and that's what matters to me.

If I wanted a mature mainstream IP I'd just stick with my PC.

Please be a legitimately AAA 3D platformer! It's basically a dead genre, and Retro proved they can handle 2D platforming. It's time they take the next step.

That would be great. But for how long have they been working on this project? Making a 2D platformer isn't that complicated, even if it is a Metroidvania. How long did Tropical Freeze took to make?

It will more than certainly be for NX...

So Retro is finally able to/going to make a game of their own after all these years.
