Forums - Microsoft - Halo 5 will have a 9GBs day1 update

The standard Bluray is too small for the game.
I mean they could put the other 9GB on a second Bluray but that would be a bit of a waste for the disc and increase the costs.

It's only the multiplayer part as well (and I guess only a fraction of that) so that makes sense.

This gen is so requiring decent internet and online access that it wouldn't be a big change if both Sony and MS made both consoles online only. And the trend will only continue.

not true at all. Maybe if you look at the western sites of things but japanese games are all singleplayer for the most part. In fact i even came across disc games who have no patches or DLC at all.

For the most successful games, it is true. Of course you can always choose exceptions and say "wrong, game xy doesn't need a big patch" but they will stay exceptions. This gen has numerous examples for this.

15 Free maps...

How comes no one ever mentions this?

I think I'm getting too accustomed to this gen when I'm relieved it's not 20 GB.

Seems this is the norm this generation.

Good thing I bought a 5TB hard drive recently.

not even Bloodborne or MGS5 dont really need the internet they have great single player campaigns. Its not the main focus its just an addon. Most of my japanese games dont have big patches

That is one of reasons why PS2 is king.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

Well, good thing higher capacity blu-rays are on the way huh?

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
