It's barely cheaper than a PS4, it's a rip off.

Thats your opinion, if your a Nintendo fan and like there games its more than worth it, to me the PS4 is a rip off, im sure you would say to me thats your opinion.

Fair enough, but i take everything into consideration. Hardware is very weak, it's a rip off just on that, they both have good games, so that's irrelevant.

GamePad is required for many games; Nintendo Land, Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D World, Captain Toad, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Super Mario Maker, Splatoon, upcoming Star Fox Zero out of the top of my head. It's vital to most of the Wii U library, and don't suggest that Nintendo is going to patch all those games in some way or form.

Though I do note Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D World and Kirby and the Rainbow Curse are all listed as supported (source being Nintendo e-shop)

Pikmin 3 you can play solely with wii remote+nunchuk or wii u pro controller, but i don't know if it's something that you unlock after beating the game

It's a huge exageration to say it's vital to most of the library, you've basically listed a few of the handful of games reliant on the pad. NSMB-U, Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros Brawl, Bayonetta 2, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Hyrule Warriors, The Wonderful 101, Wind Waker HD. There's 8 games just off the top of my head that someone may want a Wii U for that don't require the gamepad in the slightest.

Here's a list of Pro Controller compaible Wii U games:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Wii_U_games_that_use_the_Wii_U_Pro_Controller

Though I do note Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D World and Kirby and the Rainbow Curse are all listed as supported (source being Nintendo e-shop) though I'm really not sure how Kirby would work without the pad.

Don't get me wrong, I love the game pad, I just don't think removing it is going to be much of an issue for any future backwards compatability simply because barely any Wii U games truly utilise it.

Kirby support various other controllers for local multiplayer. Same holds true for 3D World, although some levels can be played without the GamePad, several levels require the GamePad. Pikmin 3 also requires the GamePad, despite the fact that you can use other controllers to play the game. I for example played it with a Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuck, but the GamePad was also required occasionally.

I don't disagree on the fact that there are plenty of games that can be played without the GamePad, but since you can't access the full Wii U library without a GamePad, I doubt Nintendo is going to include half-arsed backwards compatibility, where some games are playable and some aren't. It's not really Nintendo's way of doing that. It's everything or nothing usually.

No, you cannot. Other controls are supported, but the Wii U GamePad must be turned on and in range of the Wii U, as it is required to play the game. If someone takes the GamePad away during playing, the game will interupt and say that it has lost connectivity with the GamePad. It's not like DKC Tropical Freeze, where I can literally leave the GamePad turned off and play the game without any problem (although you need the GamePad to select the Pro Controller option I believe).

You can buy one, but at this point you have more than fair warning that a new Nintendo system is not only coming but could be imminent.

So if you're going to be back here on this board complaining a year from now that you bought a Wii U and feel you didn't get your money's worth ... that's 100% on you.

It's still going to be a solid title for the Wii U, that in my opinion looks like it'll be fun. I'm excited for it, granted not even as much as I am for Project Zero V (which was also not mentioned).

Could be a lot worse, they could do what a lot of other developers do and purposely put together footage to sell a game on hype and market it like it's an open space adventure.

Eh. Honestly, there isn't much worse it could be than what we're getting. It looks pretty bad.

Wasn't Emily Rogers the person who made that really crappy article before Star Fox got announced at E3 2014 about how Star Fox could never work in this day and age or something like that? If that's the case, she really doesn't have any credibility to me.

I don't care what you consider to be too arcadey or outdated, Star Fox 64 is one of the best games I've ever played and Star Fox Zero is looking like it's going to be a solid evolution to that. I'm sure it will be as amazing as, if not more, than SF64, and that's all I care about, because it's the first game to give that experience in almost 20 years. I love the $20 outdated arcade rail shooter.

She was right. It couldn't work in this day and age. She has the ultimate credibility. Even as a successor to SF64, it doesn't look good. It's not even doing a good job at being derivative. I don't understand how you can like SF64 and think Zero could possibly match up to it with what we've been shown. It doesn't even look like an evolution of that specific kind of on-rails gameplay - it looks like a convoluted downgrade.

No one knows if NX will flop like wii U. and also, is not very recomended to get a console in the launch.
Id say to get a wii U now, and sell your wii U and get a NX in its 2nd or 3rd year.

Wait. Don't buy the Wii U. It's way overpriced. I mean you can soon get an XB1 for the same price.

I can't recommend the Wii U to anyone.

What'a a "we you"? Some sociological or psychological theory? And why are you waiting for NOx? Can't you buy it from Volkswagen? They have excess stock of it. Do you use it for sex?
