Well the true ending is from episode 46. Playing beyond that isn't worth while unless you really just wanna play more.

My advice to new players is just focus on the required content (any episodes, side-ops, and cassette tapes colored yellow). Doing all the side content and higher difficult repeat missions will drive you crazy.

I agree the game does get tedious and some missions are a chore. But hey, its MGS. What did you expect?

I haven't been able to play it yet, but I HAVE played, beaten and cherish MGS1,2 and 3. How do they compare with those titles?

Well I also hold MGS1, 2 and 3 in high regard. However, I REALLY enjoyed Peace Walker which happens to be a polarizing game in the series.

Kinda like Peace Walker, MGSV is something very different than MGS 1, 2, and 3. If you wanted more those games, MGSV might dissapoint.

In a nutshell, its an open world stealth game. It can be frustrating, it can be tedious, there are genuine problems with this game. But it does so many interesting things I couldn't stop playing until I reached the end. Take it one mission at a time and build up that base. You might have fun along the way. I spent a month playing it so I wouldn't burn out. (this game probably takes 30 hours to complete if you focus on main objectives)

Just don't attempt to do everything like the OP did (unless you really love the game), it will drive most people crazy. You can achieve the true ending just by focusing on objectives marked in yellow.

Yeah I have to agree, its the biggest gaming disappointment... well ever for me.
Sure the gameplay is solid (lol solid) but the game is so damn repetitive and there is like zero story progression happening for long periods. Whats worse though is the time Ive put into it is more than enough to have finished any other Metal Gear. This one is needlessly stretched out with missions that should have been optional but for some reason are forced on you as story missions. Also I felt the open world while cool, was just completely pointless. Ive played for like 30 hours and the 1 time I enjoyed the open world was when I accidentally ran into the Quiet boss fight...which by the way is still the highlight of the game for me.

Im not even mad about that anymore, its like a slap in the face at this point lol. im more mad at how badly this game turned out, i was still enjoying it after like 20 odd hrs, but the repetitivness lasted a further 140hrs, everything felt completely pointless in this game; the twist at the end, how fucking pointless FOBs are, the same 5 side quest over and over and over, the fact that the most promising story episode/ending isnt even in the fucking game, being open world does nothing for it, etc etc, my MGS5 bitching thread somes it up better than i can in a paragraph.

It's funny, because once I got the plat, and started playing some MGO3, I've been enjoying the game much more. In fact, at times I replay missions and end up doing weird things but having fun with it at the same time, so I can't say the game's too bad.

I think what really drags it down is the fact that this could have ultimately been a timeless masterpiece, but then those questionable designs came kicking in.

I'm actually loving it. Can't play it at the moment because of exams though.

I felt the same way about it (and about the Witcher 3 too). Fucking boring games and extremely repetitive.

Also, one thing that nobody says: how the hell you put many missions that you are basically forced to go to an offensive route on a stealth game? It's ridiculous. The game also gives you 10x more offensive options to kill people than to infiltrate and more lethal weapons as well. You can buy explosives and lethal stuff from the begininng, while you have to wait a lot to buy better silent weapons and stuff. This game is a shame to stealth in general. Oh well, stealth is pretty much dead anyway.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

It was a painful process, but I ended up loving the game after I beat it and started over. I have gotten that from a lot of Japanese games despite them being my favorites. Sort of the same with Dark Souls, I didn't like the game until after I knew everything about the game and how to beat it.

If you want to end up truly loving a game, you might have to painfully get through some shit..

Lube Me Up

I bought MGSV last week, and after reading a lot of these comments im afraid to play it. It scored very highly with the reviewers, yet ive heard quite a few negative user reviews recently. Quite the opposite with Devils Third ;)

How is it buggy? youre just mad that you cant platinum it lol? Every platinum is a bad and repetive expeience, mind you. Youre psnprofile says you need only to collect everything but this trophy isnt listed as a buggy trophy.

It is buggy. He can't collect the final blueprint because of the bug, so he can't get the trophy of collecting everything.

What final blueprint? your link is only about S ranks not collectables

I honestly havent even touched MGO3, for a selfish reason tbh, it could be good, the general attitude from those that have played it, is positive. But thats the thing i dont want to play it and find out that i enjoy it, i dont want to commit anymore time to this game, i want to be over it and i dont want to waste anymore time when im trying to complete my backlog before F4 hits (coz nothing is getting completed once that hits lol)

And Konami isnt helping with theyre bullshit additions.

Yeah F4 with all these bugs (platinnum prevention included) and lousy repetetive gameplay its going to have will be so much better than mgs5.

I think the same, and this seems to be the trend with most of the people who played it, the game has some very good things and it feels very polish but overall the experience is boring as hell and the story it's so bad that is hilarious.

It can easily be one of the most overrated games on Metacritic ever. GTAIV is still the king though.

Now it only needs to win the GOTY so everybody knows how little reliable those prizes are.
