Forums - Gaming Discussion - Amazon US October monthly bestsellers and general Amazon based discussion

While Halo isn't selling consoles the way some wanted.... The fact that a premium priced bundles is holding its own is impressive in its own right.

If preorders counted Star Wars would be even higher. Amazon definitely keeps them split between months.

But Star Wars isn't out until November. What I'm saying is that Amazon might add the preorders into the month of release so their chartz better reflect the reality of sales for that item/console. This would stop it looking a little odd. Imagine if a console bundle preorder sold incredibly well the month before release but then petered out the month of release. Their monthly for that month would not reflect the reality of how that console is going to sell because that's the actual function of the charts there. So by adding in the preorders they better reflect the expected sales and the overall popularity of the console/item. I could be wrong but it just strikes me as odd how the Halo bundle has been absent for most of the month, beaten for a good time of that and only just taken the lead (by a small margin) but still manages to register a place of #32 in the monthlies.

I believe he's talking about the hourly charts for this month. When October began, it was just starting to enter the top 100 and only recently began moving up significantly in the past week or so. Which is why he's questioning its relatively high placement on the monthly.

That's right. He doesn't seem to realise that if I'm right it applies to the Destiny bundle too ... But you know, we have aggendas.

It's funny cause I read a number of posts all year long how fans of a competitor don't care about sales, but when this time of year comes around, sales become very important to them.

I find that kind of mentality peculiar.

Ass Creed finally on the move, really interested to see how it reviews and if a good performance will accelerate sales to the usual level.

The month started October 5th on Amazon. Ended it's first week in the 30's. You have a bad memory.

Did you see the video from Brazil game show? I just watched it and it seems to be as glitchy as unity was. The character was climbing an invisible cable or wire in mid air.

No need to get defensive. Everyone knows the bundle is selling. The discussion is simply about if it'll be enough to beat ps4 for this month and how well the bundle has been charting.

#62 isn't particularly high and you can't ignore that there have been several PS4 bundles ahead of it regularly until now. It takes a long time for the positions in the dailies/weeklies to have any great effect on the monthlies. Like I said, I could be wrong but it would be interesting to find out wouldn't it?

Edit: I've just checked back a bit more and I think I HAVE mis-remembered how things went this month. I guess I just remembered it being low relatively speaking but didn't remember the actual places.

Star Wars up a further five places. Sony's advert may be doing work already, and with the new trailer for the film today it may continue to rise. I know I said it earlier in the thread, but preorders must be big already for this thing, and it has another month before it releases.

I wonder if Cod will start to rise and stay higher consistently soon, now it is less than three weeks away from release. Preorders have been decent so far.

It's kind of odd actually because for some reason the ad has been shown in a cut down form which removes the advert for the PS4 console at the end.
