I was kinda looking foward to it, but not in the same way as with the GC and the Wii. I was bummed out by its launch lineup, that's for sure!

Basically this.
Launch titles wherent as promising as they could have been.

Im betting once you start being able to play 3DS games on the NX, the gamepad becomes usefull.
The smaller screen on the 3DS will go to the gamepad (menu's and stuff) and the bigger screen, will be shown on your TV.
Finally the gamepad will have a use, its for playing 3ds games on your new game console.
Maybe just little, I liked Zombi U and want to see new Zelda, but I am far more hyped about NX.
I was because it seemed to be a very good idea (to me) and it had a nice third party support in the beginning, something Wii never had. But everything fell apart and I never actually bought the console. After the Nintendo 3DS I bought a PS3 instead, then a PS4 later. Maybe one day I'll buy the Wii U, I'm still waiting for a good collection of games.
Nope because didn't got enough time to visit gaming sites back then and mostly preoccupied on Fifa most of the times. :)

Nintendo has always been a "kids" thing, even during the NES years. The only difference was that there was no other competition marketing a console for young adults at the time so it was never an issue. Personally, I don't give a damn. I liked my NES in the 80's and I like my Wii-U now, in my mid 30's. But, yeah, they've never NOT been kiddie. |
I know that was their image, but Nintendo fans like myself knew otherwise. The offering of games just felt more varied and better back in those days. Nintendo doesn't have a Perfect Dark or Goldeneye or Turok anymore that helps spice up their library. Nowadays, it just seems like they plaster Mario and Pikachu's face all over the place and that's it.
Also, I pretty much started gaming with the N64. I was too young to really pay much mind to console wars at the time.
To be honest, no I wasn't. Not even a bit.
I was like in a media blackout back then and I don't really know why. I guess I stopped playing with the wii and ps3 and moved to something else.
Then I went to a friend's house and played new super mario bross u for the first time.
I hated the gamepad with all my heart. I thought it was bulky and cheap and extremely unconfortable to play with And thought nsmbu was same shit as always, and not in a good way. I still don't like it.
But then I saw a few other games, mainly DKC tropical freeze and went from meh to wow I need this right now xD
Then I began hyping a lot of games and finally bought the console and 5 or 6 games.
Now with almost 30 games I feel like the wii u might be my second favorite console of all time.
I love zombi u, DKCTF, windwaker hd, mario kart 8, hyrule warriors, bayonetta 2, wolly world, splatoon, rayman legends...
Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. Using the gamepad to search and watch on the tv online series is the best thing ever!

Yeah, their library was alot more diverse. 100% agree there.
