This might be the most expensive game in Nintendo's history. HD, large game scope, 4+ year dev cycle ... they're not going to let it rot on the Wii U where it will sell 2.5-3 million and then fizzle out.

It will easily double those sales if its in the NX launch window. There's not really much to contemplate here.

Does Mario Kart 8 Fizzle out? No. Zelda would reach its normal maxium sales numbers, on Wii U.

Zelda games never have anywhere close to the legs of Mario Kart, so that's a silly comparison. Plus it's coming at the tail end of the Wii U lifecycle.

It's sales trajectory will likely be more comparable to Zelda: Skyward Sword, if its lucky ... which did fizzle out quickly.

As a NX launch title it would easily sell double the amount, do you really doubt that? It would be the go-to title everyone would buy with the system for the first 4-5 months at least.

I prefer Zelda U stay as a Wii U exclusive, and some kind of remake (Twilight Princess?) for mythical NX launch.

It's a lock. Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. Just read how TP went down. It's pretty much the exact parallel to what's happening now. It's obvious imo.

3DS is almost at 60m by itself and will likely end its run at around 70m, the portable side of things has never been a problem for Nintendo it's the console side of things. With the way Vita has been left to die and Sony looking like they're distancing themselves from the portable market its looking like the won't be direct competition either for the next portable meaning it's likely to hit even higher then 3DS as we enter another era where the is no other portable unless Sony want to have another try.

Only way HH+HC won't pass 60m is if they're priced way too high.

Look I´m just saying that 60m should not be underestimated.
I think that Nintendos´ Handhelds and Consoles´ have a huge overlap (I´d assume ~50% of WiiU owners also have a 3DS) and Mobile will eat even more into dedicated Handheld sales (They won´t die or anything but a significant installbase loss in the area of another 10-20m is absolutely realistic). When I consider this 60m doesn´t seem like an absolute lock-on. Sure it might turn out to be the next hot thing (however, I doubt this) and I´ll gladly eat crow if it turns out to be^^

Edit: Sorry for kinda derailing....

Yup...RO friggin rocked

Zelda U is first HD and real open world Zelda, probably biggest, most expensive and very likely will be best Nintendo game this gen. So it's almost certain that it will be ported on NX. Also it's basically same TP situation.

Also I dont mind at all fact that will be ported on NX.

So the issue I've always had with this theory is that it would mean either the game releases in 2017, or NX launches in 2016. I always assumed (and still do) that NX would launch in 2017, so if Zelda U launches in 2016 it wouldn't really make much sense to port it. For Twilight Princess, it came out for the GameCube just a couple weeks after releasing for the Wii. If Zelda U comes out for NX a year after launching on the Wii U, I don't really see what the point would be, and hence believe it to be unlikely.

Well Last Of Us PS4 was released one year after PS3 version and it's one of the best PS4 games.

And I think NX is 2016. thing.

Nintendo is constantly porting Zelda games to their new platforms. I think Wii U is almost dead and new Zelda is a big-budget game for Nintendo so, in the manner of Twilight Princess, is highly probable that the game will release on NX too (or even only for it). If not, it will be ported some time later anyway.

I could definitely see that happen, but I won't buy it! I will stick with the WiiU version.

very likely.

Nintendo need a big game ready at launch for the NX.

That means a real 3D mario or a Zelda game, launching without either of those 2 things leads to bad launches.

Its possible like twillight princess
