openGL was fuckup?

yes OpenGl constantly lags in features and performance. They usually eventually catch up but rarely are they leading.

think you might have to provide a citation for that. Xbox doesn't support and has never had an OpenGL framework written for it to my knowledge.

OpenGL has a problem, really: It's open.

what will be interesting is whether or not they can stop Vulkan suffering the same fate as OpenGL. I am betting that with so many parties and so many agendas and so many platforms involved fragmentation is just about invetiable and then they will be right back in the same leaky boat.

Vulkan does a lot of great things. I look forward to seeing benchmarks between the two.

What I want to know is: What exactly is in the Vulkan API. It is to run on a variety of systems, serving a variety of purposes and gpu vendors, from mobile to desktop. What is up to the driver, what is up to the API (Vulkan) and what is up to the OS. If all "customizations" for all the variety is happening in Vulkan itself, this will be a monster to maintain.

Ruler, please. Do you have *any* knowledge sometimes in threads you participate in? I mean, seriously... It's getting annoying.

Tell us which game on Xbone uses OpenGL. Or a game on 360 or PS4...

Sony and Nintendo are part of the krohnos goup

Not only did you write Khronos wrong, your answer is saying as much as "smurfs are blue". This is not an appropriate reply to my post.

Again, you said "that is all consoles are running on including Xbox One in the earlier games" all consoles. Including Xbox One in the earlier games. You didn't name even one example. I mean, of course not as there is none but... well, whatever.

vulkan is not a good idea for ps4. You don't want to be easier for devs to develop on other platforms when you are the lead platform. You want it to be as hard as it can be so games are good only on playstation and play like shit on pc and xbox and you dominate the world!

Isn't the PS4 rumoured to be getting Vulkan?

Yeah,  the PS4 should support Vulkan. Or at least it could fairly easily it seems.

I'm quite sure Sony won't support Vulkan on PS4 . For the simple reason that it doesn't need it. GNM, the close to the metal PS4 API, is at a much lower level. But nothing is going to stop Vulkan to make its own port on PS4 and XB1, if they wish so. So it may happen as a third party API.

Sony and MS could provide wrappers or compatibility layers for Vulkan. Native Vulkan is a different story as it would have access to the device like the corresponding current APIs which I doubt will happen.
