everything in UE4 looks the same no matter what game or genre its just lifeless

I agree with this, graphics wise its better but it does feel soulless

Have you maybe considered that has to do with the fact that there are literally zero people in the town? No cuckoos? That buildings can't be entered? The town is a faithful recreation of Kakariko Village, both in style and content. All it's missing is the people throughout the town. It isn't missing Nintendo charm. It's just missing the life, you know, the people and animals.

It's the visuals I found a bit soulless, nothing to do with the lack of people or interaction. But it's still impressive, considering it's fanmade.

Felt like it had more soul than most zelda games... judgeing it only on the 1 model we actually see.... Link.

He looka the way hes supposed to, if that guy that made the video populated a intire world with characters, it would have as much soul as any nintendo made zelda game.

Well I disagree but to each his own.

inb4 Nintendo takes this down.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.

I'm just hoping that his remix of Kakariko villages theme music is different enough... otherwise the big N will be all over those 300k hits in no time.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

It's pointless, Ninty fans will never be happy until that video has Ninty logo at the bottom.

You're right, that's why no Zelda game has come under fire [by Nintendo fans] because of its visuals.

Folks, can we please keep this about the guys work, and not about fan bases. This wasn't made to start slinging mud at each other. If you have something to say, can we at least maintain a level of civility about it?

...have they? I'm honestly not familiar with the history of Zelda games and how their fan reception went, the only thing I can think of from Zelda fans hating on a game's art-style is when the Wii U one was first revealed, and even then, even with the disappointment from the Zelda tech demo, the ones complaining were a minority, or at least felt like it. Weren't you guys used to cartoony stuff thanks to Wind Waker? Didn't that game sell well?

Erm, I disagree, the only 3D Zelda games that can be classified as "beautiful" in my opinion are WW and SS, anything other than that feel like a generic world with not really that many interesting locations being heldback by underpowered hardware by having ugly textures, and blocky geometry. Honestly, most Zelda games look ugly to me, whatever type of improvement to their locals make them better than the originals in my eyes.

This is likely made by one person who is possibly still in education or in a junior position. The reason why this these really impressive demos tend to look "souless" Is because 1 person has built the models, scripted the controls, done the lighting, made the textures and animated the characters. In actual game development these are specified roles which have dedicated teams of digital painters, 3D modellers, animators etc. These demos are typically made by people trying get into the industry, just giving some context. What this does give you is a good glimpse of is what Nintendo could do with an engine like Unreal 4 and decent spec hardware
