It looks like instead of going with the shape of a gigantic controller with a touchscreen built in like the Wii U, they went with the shape of an actual tablet that has some additional controls on the side.

I'm getting really excited for what Nintendo is doing. Can't wait to see what they show off next year at e3 :D

With half their lineup delayed Nintendo can't further ruin the holiday season by talking about the successor.  Gotta squeeze the last drop of lemonade out.

I'm hoping NX news will start trickling out in march.

A tablet form factor could let them use a really high-end mobile chip similar in class to the Apple A9X (Power VR GT7800?), but knowing Nintendo, far more fine-tuned specifically for gaming. 

That would allow for even PS4/XB1 ports running at 960x540 resolution probably in the range of 3 1/2 hours of battery life, but the battery would have to be quite large (iPad or Macbook Air size). Good news is batteries are relatively cheap if you have a larger form factor these days.

So this new device would read the barcode on the Amiibo rather than use NFC technology? A bit weird but I guess with a barcode reader, you can do a lot more than with just NFC (ie QR codes)

Believing that every Nintendo patent recently found will be about something that NX will have is a mistake. Not every patent ends up being a real product, and when it does, it may come later rather than sooner.

So many recent patents from Nintendo.

Nintendo said we will have "brand new concept" with NX and it look its very likely that we will have multiple form factors.

Can't wait for some official NX informations!
