Forums - Gaming Discussion - Konami Is Done With AAA Console Games; Tech Director Quits

Buh bye Konami of old. They are ceasing AAA console development on franchises aside from Pro Evolution Soccer. Their tech director has quit as they shift focus to mobile games.

Give your franchises to Nintendo plz, Castlevania and Contra and Metal Gear.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Good riddance

The PS5 Exists.

The only thing we're going to see from Konami from now on are pachinkos, mobile games and PES or YuGiOh games. Companies will have to license and develope themselves games using Konami's licenses if they ever want to see them again.

I hope they continue with PES or they lend the license to someone else, though. I don't want football games to become an absolute FIFA monopoly.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I'm looking forward to the Metal Gear: Candy Crush crossover.

Wonder if they will be using their more famous IP for mobile spin-offs and other crap, or whether they would be open to offers.

What happened to their survey of which games we want to see from them?

Wait I thought this was known, or was that either a rumor or speculation?

In any case, I'm not surprised.
