Hence why I primarily stated the west.

You said it can break 2-3 mil in EU.

And you keep mentioning tht "the first halo of every gen does big numbers". This has no backing at all. The only known instance is halo 3. Wich is the highest selling halo of them all. Halo 2 did better than 1 on original xbox due to its bigger install base at the time. Bungi had publicly abandoned halo after 3 and fans knew this so it might be the reason why the following games did not do as well, not because of first halo of the gen.

Not saying that it cant be true, but that is kind of true to any franchise. People want to see the icon they love in the new, stronger hardware and they might have skiped an installment or 2. But to say that this is the only factor why halo 5 will rule is nonsense, It will be lucky if it reaches halo 4 numbers on this low installbase.

It can break between two to three million LTD in Europe imho since this is the first Halo. Also, Bungie didn't abandon Halo after three, they also made that Reach game which I consider the Gears Judgement of the Halo franchise. ODST was the last expansion they dropped before they left as well. No offense to them and thanks for the creation of Halo, but I see 343 taking this very far. They are much better at telling an actual story as well as keeping up the integrity of the gameplay. As a person who loves story games because of Sony I can attest to this. Personal feelings aside though, Halo will take the west after October 27. The question is for how long? Sony's biggest franchise is coming nearly five months after Halo and Tomb Raider drop. That will be another game that people who cannot wait for either Uncharted (or waiting a year to hit the PS4) will pick up. Ontop of having a $50 price differential between the two consoles once again, it will prove very useful.

Also, whoever argues my statement that Halo 5 can hit above 2 million in Europe need only look to VGChartz European sales of Halo which was 2.25 Mil. Granted, Halo 3 as the largest of them all, but Reach caused a drop and increased with the new Halo 4 from 343.

I still remember people had no dubts in their minds that august was a sure thing to, with rare replay, gears remaster and the $500 40" tv + and x1 bundle, then look what npd told us on that prediction.

So I would advise you to not rush to the conclusion that one game will change eveything, remember that nintendo always preached that and look at them now. And last year the bundles and pricecut was insane with the x1, all sony did was add GTA5. Asuming it will be the same this year is another thing you should be carefull with.

I'll be picking up a PS4 since I already have an Xbox One.

Pretty much this, sadly the Wii U isn't a real option for me.

I said fourth quarter in the US though and most definitely November and december in the west. Sony has the rest of the year outside of the fourth quarter in the states, generally speaking, but fourth quarter tends to bring larger sales than any other month in the states anyway so Microsoft isnt a slouch either.

Nintendo has nothing to preach about if they dont have a one hit wonder console and lack third party. He who has the majority of the third party holds the power. Nintendo has forgotten what its like to truly rule the industry since the late eighties and early nineties.

I also meant fourth quater. Aside from halo 5, we know nothing else that will boost sales for the x1. While the ps4 has no "big exclusive", it has many regular exclusive, and exclusive marketing for many games, including COD wich is bigger than halo in the US and starwars, wich I dont like myslef, never did, But I recognise that is a life style to some. When that ps4 limited edition starwars bundle hits, I think the most that it will atract is tha casuals who just watched that movie. It has the potential of being much bigger than halo.

And for the deal and pricecut, you keep thnking it will be hte same as last year, we dont know that, we might as well actually see some competition in the deals for thhis holliday. So I really cant agree with x1 has 4th Q on lockdown.

You do know of other things, you guys just refuse to account for them. As I've said before, Microsoft is adding backwards compatibility, has a years exclusivity of Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza, Gears and a fifty dollar price differential while offering 90% the same library.

The price cut helps. It won black friday for Microsoft last year. Keep acting like it doesnt matter. That plus multiple exclusives ontop of a top selling exclusive shooter will win the west. History has proven that correct before. Culturally speaking, it wont be wrong. The last Halo was the third hightest selling Halo of all time, which means the sales are consistent for Halo. Theres no point in denying that Halo wont give the Xbox One a huge holiday boost in sales.

never ever buy an xbox or a wiiu.
just for 3good games? forza looks good, but every year a small update . not worth it .
tomb raider bought by microsoft, are you guys sure to support it? its dead on arrival for me .
halo maybe but i think its nothing special anymore.

The last Halo game sold over nine million. What was your point again?

You keep ignoring my points and I know its not my writing skills making it hard. So Im going to ask you as directly as I possibly can.

1) Do you think that sony will not have any deals this holliday, like last year?

2) I know its all speculation, but what would be the efects of a ps4 pricecut? Is a ps4 pricecut out of the question this year?

3) Will the limited edition darth vader ps4 have no effect on sales this holliday?

4) Ass you already saw the minimum effects forza 6 is having on sales, the minimun effect gears and rare had last month, Do you honestly think ROTTR will have massive impact?

5) How many halo fans d you think have already bought an x1? Do you think that number will have any effect for the new console buyers when halo 5 hits?

I know MS has a lot of good thiings going for them this Q, everyone knows they will do good, but it is you who keeps ignoring everything else the ps4 has this Q and the main thing is all the Jap exclusives, the third party marketing and hardware advantage. The X1 might wing the US this Q, sure, its the safe bet. But the ps4 wont go down without a fight and the victory wont be anything major, it will do nothing on the gap already at hand. A lot closer than last year Ill just say.
