Forums - Gaming - Which Console Should You Buy This Holiday? 2015 Edition

He was saying it had a better line up when it comes to popularity which is true.

Only with the case of Halo 5.  Racing sim is niche and no one is buying a console for TR.  One big title is not enough to out do everything the PS4 has to offer as it appeals to a wider audience.  Also X1 has no prior 2015 exclusives to fall back on.  Anyone buying the console fresh will also have the option on The Order, Bloodborne, Until Dawn, and the PS Plus edition of Driveclub to consider with major titles coming very early 2016.

To say X1 has a more popular line up is narrow minded at best.

It has rare replay and gears. Racing games arent niche, tomb raider is still pretty big.

Saving to get an X1 on Black Friday. Was going to wait a bit longer, but getting three more Gears games for free is tempting. So for a start I hope to get DR3, FH2, Halo MCC, Sunset Overdrive, Rare Replay and Gears Ultimate. That should last a good while, as I'll also be playing a ton of PS4 and Wii U. Then will come Forza 6, Halo 5, Recore, QB, Scalebound, Crackdown 3, Gears 4 and Halo Wars 2. At which point another wave of exclusives should be releasing.

As for the general exclusives argument that is occurring again, the overall lineup for a console is more important than what is releasing in the holidays when you are buying a new console, because you have them all to catch up on.

At some point, I wonder how the NX is going to fit into all this

I'm afraid it won't. I've supported nintendo for years. But I do think they'll have a hard time convicing people to buy NX whatever it is. I hope I'm wrong though. I love their games.

Nintendo has lost the casual and core alike. What remains is Diehard nintendo fans, and while numerous it is not enough to be viable in bussines terms.  Especially not if they go with parity hardware. Then the development costs would just get too difficult,  not to mention the ressources needed to maintain online infrastructure. II see nintendo having the least chance of fighting back the coming years with microsoft being able to stay competitive and break even at the very least.  Truth is,  the gaming landscape has just become too small for 3 platform holders.

Nintendo has zero debt and is returning to profits in their recent quarters.  They should continue making profits and I would only worry if the NX bombed harder than the Wii U which I doubt it will.

"A better and bigger exclusive library on X1"? How many list so far have debunked this myth? even counting the pc ports as true exclusives. Also not interested shooters.

"Full third party support on X!"? Ovbiously japannese games dont count then.

Your the reason the myth of "ps4 has no games" keeps going on. Then plenty of people keep making list to proove this wrong, fans fight to add or remove items from list, people get offended, mods step in and release the ban hammer.

No thank you, Ill pick a ps4 this holliday. Maybe, only if theres a good deal on it

The only people keeping the "PS4 has no games" alive are Sony fans.

You will have to go into more detail with this.

Kinda disappointed you didn't mention the strong Japanese support for the PS4.

He also called Bloodborne mediocore together with the bunch even if its the highest rated retail exclusive between the two consoles and only super mario world is rated higher

to be honest, anyone looking at Wii U should really look into if they can wait until E3, where we'll know if the NX if backwards compatible.

On whether you should get an PS4 or Xbone. I find Microsoft line up more attractive. Especially killed any Sony hype after I played some Rachet and Clank and figured out they aren't as good as I thought.

Good video as usual!

I never buy a nintendo console without the launch of a zelda. Now it looks like its going to launch also on nx like twilight princes did. If thats the case, Ill buy the nx and skip the wii u.

At least you tried the game, I love rachet and clank but we cant all be the same. Exclusive wise, MS offers nothing for me, exept that new platinum game, not enough for me to get an x1.

Quantum, Crackdown, Recore are all post 2015...nice try.  X1 has Halo 5, Forza 6, and RotTR (timed).

PS4 has Dragon Quest Heros, Persona 5, Disgea 5, Uncharted Collection, Tearaway Unfolded, as well as games from earlier this year in Bloodborne and Until Dawn.  X1 has zero exclusives from earlier this  year  to fall back on and this does make a difference to those who did not already own either one.  Furthermore Uncharted 4 will release as early as March 2016 (confirmed).  If I did not already have both, I would go for PS4 as it has more to offer and is more appealing overall.

X1 has some good titles coming out (finally), but to say it blows PS4 away this holiday is laughable.

Tomb Raider is timed...for a year. Not much to downplay there. Those two games alone in Halo and Tomb Raider blow away anything Sony is dropping in fourth quarter in exclusivepopularity.

For you. for me Persona 5 alone beats thouse 2 together, for me Bloodbourne alone beats both plus forza and gears. for me Zelda alone beats the entire playstation and xbox library combined. So that statement means nothing, just that you like halo and tomb raider(not even, you dont even seem to want  it, just that others might want it, but it dosent occur to you that others feel the same for the other games that might be on diferent platfrms.).
