For those saying ND release complete games, they announced single-player DLC for U4 six months before release. It's a shame they're turning out like the others.

o.O So, you're saying TLOU wasn't complete, because they released the Left Behind DLC?  Because in actual interviews, that's precisely what ND is planning on creating, content as compelling as Left Behind.

Left behind wasn't announced before the game's release afaik or that early.

Yeah and?  In the interview w/ KindaFunnyGames yesterday, they said that's the intent on the SP DLC.  They're going to try and take another shot at it.  Many, many companies prior to launch, indicate they plan on episodic content.  Doesn't mean it's taking away from the core game.  Just means they plan on revisiting the story.

to OP, yeah tons of microtransactions will continue till gamers stop paying and defending them, but thats not happening with any game or any company anytime soon tbh

Umm... Don't buy from it then.

The games are 100% playable without spending an extra penny. Paid cosmetics are for those who really don't care if they spend a couple of bucks on a hat.

It's not a cash grab if the consumer has the option to buy it. If you think they are unreasonable, don't spend a penny extra.

"It's not a cash grab if the consumer has the option to buy it."

so if the game's price was raised arbitrarily to $100 that's not a negative since you have the option to buy it? wtf?

Yes, exactly.

Companies aim to make money. Their success is as a result of how many consumers choose to purchase their product or service. If they increase their price to 100, and as a result far less people buy, they will likely make a loss and not be a success. Their own fault.

I really don't get what's so 'wtf' about that. Companies have to make money. They have to pay their employees so their employees can feed their families.

^ Right here.  Take some responsibility people.  You encouraged companies to explore this avenue, now you're complaining that they do.

which is why i said "arbitrarily" in that if all other games are priced $60 and this one is priced $100 with the same standard of content they have now you would have no problem with that?

its ultimately the decision of the company to price their products i can't fault that but that doesn't mean we can't critique their decisions

furthermore it looks as if naughty dog is doing single player dlc this time around... i truly wonder how the answers in here would change if they took out a chapter from the middle of the game and charged $20 for it

yes it was

The real question here is why do ppl buy this ? If everyone is against it, dont buy it and them theyll stop doing it, but everyone buys it so they keep doing it. Its not rocket science.

microtransactions aren't a problem imo since content is not locked away...

my issue is with content that affects balancing being locked away since the whole experience is compromised as a result of lack of balance
