Its good sales made up for hardware loss of PS4 at launch I guess.

I got GT5 as an impulse buy and enjoyed it but had no intentions of buying GT6 due to next gen thoughts.

It probably sold a decent amount of digital copies also since it only was around 12GB when it launched which is only slightly larger then the FM6 demo that released a couple of days ago. With all the DLC the size is almost twice as much now even though most of that data is just videos associated with the Vision GT cars. The DLC could have been better but it all been free so I really can't complain about it.

It should have released atleast a year before the next Playstation system came out, just like GT2 and GT4 did. Besides that they could have done a PS4 port/remaster.

Also interesting is that GT3 is the best selling GT game, and released within a year after PS2 launched. A GT game early in the gen is important because it gives higher sales for the game and creates a bigger install base for the console.

People need to learn to use the correct terminology around here. It's not #overtrekt it's #preadjusted.

Damn, that's really low for a GT. Let's hope GT7 can improve substantially over this, and at least come close to GT5.

Obviously the fact that nearly 11 million PS3 users had GT5 already doesn't count. DriveClub alone sold more than 2 million up to date. GT7 will sell like crazy at launch as in the long run, like GT5 did.

That release date was such a fail.

Imo Gran Turismo 6 should have been Gran Turismo Vita.

But 72M is retail and digital, isn't it?
