Well, outside internet it certainly gets a lot of respect. That's why it gets most of the sales. And that is what counts.

it's well respected out of the internet which is what I really care. I don't expect that kind of respect on the internet specially from gamers that have a biased for the other consoles. I guess the same happen with the other consoles as well. They have more respect from people that don't get involved in console wars.
The 'respect' a console gets on the internet is usually tide to how many fans of each brand are present on any given site :p Outside of the internet, i think all three get about as much 'respect' as deserve (at least on a general scale).

Nope. X1 is cheaper, will support many of our last gen titles, and has strong bundles.
Maybe value is subjective?

Yes it's the only console keeping us from total devastation of the console industry without the PS4 we all would be gaming on pc
Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
Outside of the world of the internets, it's clearly getting the respect it deserves, as it is clearly dominant in home console sales.
Within the realm of the internets, where list wars reign supreme, the only real negative marks I can give it pretty much boil down to a) the cost of PS Now is too high (the subscription service is okay at 15-20 dollars a month, but I think Sony would do well to try to make the pricing more competitive, add some perks for PS Plus members, and make the à la carte pricing structure simpler) and b) a complete lack of PS Classics support. Seriously, anything can run a PS1 emulator.
But other than that, I think it's a solid, reasonably priced, reasonably powerful system with a great controller and a great form factor.
Yes it sure does but like others have said outside of the Internet its pretty much cherished lol
"Say what you want about Americans but we understand Capitalism. You buy yourself a product and you Get What You Pay For."

Whether or not PS4 is the best platform is just subjective. If you really like Japanese or Sony games, that makes PS4 the best console.
I dont care much about Japanese games. The Japanese games I do enjoy happen to be the few geared toward western consmers and often come to Xbox. MS happens to make or get really fun exclusives, so Im partial to Xbox.
Bottom line, its annoying to hear Sony fans boast about how their stupid plastic box is the best when games we enjoy are elsewhere. I want a PS4 for some exclusives, thats the same reason I have a PS3.

If being allowed in the same room as my awesome PC isn't enough respect I don't know what is.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
