Sony didn't moneyhatted anything. For Atlus, a pc port (or Xbox port, or WiiU port) is just TOTALLY USELESS, that's all.

Nintendo and Atlus have a great relationship and Atlus has a very good reputation with Nintendo fans. A Wii U port would not be useless, it would actually end up doing pretty well most likely.

So for Atlus, PC or Xbox is pretty much useless.

When will people get this in their head? Nintendo handheld fanbase =/= Nintendo console fanbase. Nintendo's console fanbase hasn't had any exposure to Atlus' RPGs since the SNES and the only exposure they are getting is that trashy crossover game, they have no connection with Persona at all and there would be no reason for a Persona/JRPG fan to only own the Wii U as a home console, so there's no reason to think this would do well on Wii U.

1. SMT x FE is not trashy.

2. Almost everyone who owns a Wii U also own a 3DS.

3. It's still Nintendo. Fans of their games on the 3DS who didn't yet own a Wii U would surely end up buying one for the game over the PS4 depending on the games they want.

They do have a Persona game on the 3DS, Persona Q, which is a SPINOFF and still sold more than SMT IV.

Also, your statement saying "so there's no reason to think this would do well on Wii U."

Well guess what... there's no reason to think it would not do well on the Wii U.

After pumping 70+ hours in Persona 4 Golden, can't say i'm that bothered about playing number 5.

I'm actually surprised no one has asked Atlus if they have any intention of putting Persona 5 on Nintendo platforms down the line.

Hell I want this game on my PS Vita!

1. Ok, whatever you say, I've been very open on my opinion about this, I think it looks horrible. (meaning from the direction in terms of story and presentation, the core game will probably be fine).

2. Uhh, great now lets switch that one around, what about the other 40 million 3DS owners?  The 3DS userbase likely has as much, if not more PS overlap as it has Wii U overlap.

3. Again that's bollocks, Nintendo handhelds have always had significantly larger installbases than Nintendo consoles and I very much doubt that you have any proof that owning a Nintendo handheld makes a person more likely to buy a Nintendo console.

The Persona Q point goes back to what I said about the handheld vs. console fanbase argument, considering the type of game that Persona Q is (pure Persona 3&4 fanservice) it seems very likely that the people that bought this game have owned the other games on PS2 or (PSP/Vita).

And actually I gave you reasons to think it wouldn't do well on Wii U.

Fanbase had no expsoure to the series at all and the game has a version releasing on PS (where the Persona fanbase is) that even if it came to Wii U would still be technically superior to the Wii U version, so that wouldn't be speaking for the Wii U version either.

Lol, have you played the game already? You know what the story is about? The combat system? The dungeons?

Did Sony have a connection with Final Fantasy, Street Fighter and Dragon Quest before the PS1? Apparently not, I guess those games bombed on the PS1.

Shin Megami Tensei IV on the 3DS is one of the best selling entries in the franchise.

This game could very well end up on the NX eventually, who knows. Sony likely won't make a new handheld anymore, so it seems like the logical choice. The fact that the Wii U is getting Ibun Genei Roku is already telling enough as it's very much inspired by the likes of Persona and Shin Megami Tensei. It also barely qualifies as a cross-over game, it's a new IP which uses FE characters as mirages. Would the game be any different if it used new characters as mirages? No, not really.

If you were really interested in JRPGs of this kind you'd also be interested in the JRPGs on the 3DS and Wii U (only two, but they look pretty great so far).

I guess a game being exclusive to the PS brand is more important to you.

Atlus has made plenty of games for Nintendo's handheld.

Oh and P4G would have sold better on the 3DS than on the Vita.

lol No the hell it wouldn't.

An expected display of cluelessness from you.

1. Read my second post, the gameplay will be decent, the story/art direction that the game is going in (JPop and tits) is what's trashy. "But-bu-but the lyrics of the song"...yeah, you've said that before you can keep it to yourself.

2. Oh yeah the PS1, the system that took over the whole market and with that tons of people that owned other systems before that, also those games became exclusive at that point, kinda missed that one, didn't you? How many former PS guys do you think went Wii U exclusive this gen?... Thought so.

3. And all Nintendo handheld owners also own Nintendo consoles? And no PS console owners have a 3DS? Geez you better tell ioi, he must have undertracked the Wii U by quite a bit then.

4. Of course the logical choice is NX, the system we effectively know nothing about. Not Atlus maybe just not making a handheld version (if the NX isn't a console, which would make it even less of a logical choice) this time...of course. What's even more telling is that Persona 5 isn't coming to Wii U, how about that? The only reason that crossover title is happening is because the Fire Emblem characters are in there.

5. The irony of that sentence is way too high coming from the person that is only interested in the JRPGs that are coming to Wii U. But funfact, I am actually interested in JRPGs coming to Wii U, XCX looks pretty cool, I just don't like SMTxFE but that's probably because I don't just go apeshit over anime tits in games.

6. Yeah keep telling yourself that I'm only saying this because I need this to be exclusive and not because multiplat Persona 5 on a Nintendo home console wouldn't sell.

7. And that's a great assumption you have there and even if you could prove it then that would still mean nothing cause, I apparently have to repeat this again, Nintendo handheld fanbase =/= Nintendo console fanbase.

You call me clueless yet you have no clue what the story is about and just spout false nonsense. Watch Gamexplains video about the story or just stop trashing a game you know nothing about.

2. Oh yeah the PS1, the system that took over the whole market and with that tons of people that owned other systems before that, also those games became exclusive at that point, kinda missed that one, didn't you? How many former PS guys do you think went Wii U exclusive this gen?... Thought so.

You completely missed the point I was making. It's like talking to a brick wall made by Sony. I wasn't even talking about Wii U. Just because a franchise has no connection to a current or future console doesn't mean a connection can't be made. Plenty of examples of that in gaming history. Again, don't talk about something you know obviously nothing about. I guess Titanfall 2 shouldn't come to the PS4 as that console's userbase hasn't played the first one.

3. And all Nintendo handheld owners also own Nintendo consoles? And no PS console owners have a 3DS? Geez you better tell ioi, he must have undertracked the Wii U by quite a bit then.

Has nothing to do with the post you quoted.

4. Of course the logical choice is NX, the system we effectively know nothing about. Saying Ibun Genei Roku is just an "anime tits game" is as ignorant as saying "Persona 5 is just weaboo trash". The amount of prejudice, ignorance and stereotyping in your post is astonishing. Besides, I'm buying a PS4 making your statement untrue. Don't talk about things you know nothing about. When are you buying a Nintendo console?

6. Yeah keep telling yourself that I'm only saying this because I need this to be exclusive and not because multiplat Persona 5 on a Nintendo home console wouldn't sell.

Everyone knows it.

7. And that's a great assumption you have there and even if you could prove it then that would still mean nothing cause, I apparently have to repeat this again, Nintendo handheld fanbase =/= Nintendo console fanbase.

Which again has nothing to do with the post you quoted.

Saying a game is trash without any sort of explanation (even worse it's not even out yet and you haven't played it)... Hmm, what do we call that?

You saw a 2 minute trailer of this game and already made up your mind. That's just sad. Oh and I guess the God of War franchise is also trashy?

Lol, buddy I know more than enough, it's about a group of teenagers that all want to make it in the entertainment industry, that find out they have some mysterious power (mirages) with which they have to use to fight some evil forces and probably their inner demons as well or some shit, throw in some JPOP and tits and you not only have the plot for this game but for basically hundreds of animes out there, the story is cliche as shit and the game has from the start been Otaku pandering to the max.

2. Oh yeah the PS1, the system that took over the whole market and with that tons of people that owned other systems before that, also those games became exclusive at that point, kinda missed that one, didn't you? How many former PS guys do you think went Wii U exclusive this gen?... Thought so.

Again, don't talk about something you know obviously nothing about. I guess Titanfall 2 shouldn't come to the PS4 as that console's userbase hasn't played the first one.

Then maybe you shouldn't make senseless comparisons like this one, I fully explained why those franchises grew on PS1, how about you try to explain why Persona should grow on Wii U or NX, with still being available on PS? Instead of just saying, but...uh it could happen. We're not talking about a huge franchise with tons of casuals appeal (like Titanfall) here, but about very dedicated fanbase, if those people could stay on PS were they've always played those games and were the game will be better, why would they move to a Nintendo home console?

3. And all Nintendo handheld owners also own Nintendo consoles? And no PS console owners have a 3DS? Geez you better tell ioi, he must have undertracked the Wii U by quite a bit then.

Has nothing to do with the post you quoted.

Has everything to do with what I quoted, what's the point of posting about SMTIV sales? Is the game on Wii U? There're over 50 million 3DS owners and the game is exclusive to 3DS, how can you even begin to proof that that has anything to do with the Nintendo home console audience and not with the people that loved this games on PS2 (and the people pulled into the franchise later via Persona) as well just going with the only option they had?

Again, you obviously don't know the development history behind this game. Don't talk about things you know nothing about.

Great response, you obviously know the complete story behind this game and the notion that the FE crossover part is the reason for this coming to Wii U is of course completely far-fetched.

Reading is hard isn't it? *Hint* You overread the "in". Oh and when the next Zelda comes out.

6. Yeah keep telling yourself that I'm only saying this because I need this to be exclusive and not because multiplat Persona 5 on a Nintendo home console wouldn't sell.

Everyone knows it.

Again, brilliant response.

7. And that's a great assumption you have there and even if you could prove it then that would still mean nothing cause, I apparently have to repeat this again, Nintendo handheld fanbase =/= Nintendo console fanbase.

Which again has nothing to do with the post you quoted.

Oh but it absolutely has. I was talking about home consoles and you use handhelds or handheld games as examples to proof your point, which is entirely senseless.

Saying a game is trash without any sort of explanation (even worse it's not even out yet and you haven't played it)... Hmm, what do we call that?

In this case? Having good taste? Also I've seen a lot more than 2 minutes of this game and I have given my explanation more than once already: It has horrible music, it has a horribly cliche premise and it has a ridiculous amount of revealing outfits and tits (it even has jiggle physics, yay) shown in what little marketing material we've seen up to this point. It's like a Persona game without the style, instead created by a modern Anime marketing team throwing everything in that they think the Otaku crowd will like.

You saw a 2 minute trailer of this game and already made up your mind. That's just sad. Oh and I guess the God of War franchise is also trashy?

Not a huge fan, but I'd really like you to find the horrible JPOP in God of War, oh and all the marketing material that boasts the tits in the game.
