If they make Sovereign Mass Army of Super Heroes I'd be down for it.

Films-about-games are a much bigger risk than games, both monetarily and for potential damage to the brand.

If done correctly (and that is a big IF), both Mario and Zelda could be huge film franchises.

With Harry Potter and LOTR/Hobbit basically retired, there's an opening for a big new fantasy film franchise in Hollywood, Zelda could fill that role nicely.

A CG animated Mario in the vein of Wreck It Ralph or the LEGO Movie could also be a big hit.

Just have to find the right script for each project. But that's easier said than done.

If done properly it could work, look how Lego have expanded their brand breaking out from just the toys. Also may I add that the Pikmin short movies by Miyamoto are excellent, something of that quality in movie form would be great.

Would be interesting to see if Disney and Nintendo can get into an agreement in making movies without Disney buying out Nintendo.

Expecting one of these movies to be under Universal especially with their success in Depsicable Me and the latest Minions movies (or their movies in genral this year). Not sure if that Sony produced Mario is still a thing. Sony/Colombia's Pixels was pretty bad domestically so Nintendo may not be too confident in Sony's animated team.

Stick with what makes sense to everyone: new Pokemon TV series, Fire Emblem and Kid Icarus anime, maybe a Splatoon animated feature.

I have a difficult time imagining what a good Mario or Zelda TV show or movie would be like. DKC could with the right script and voice actors/comedians -- but it's a stretch.

Whatever they do, they really shouldn't let Sony Pictures or Fox have their films like Marvel did. Universal and Disney are really the smarter companies for them.

Well, start with some IP that actually has some depth to it and a reasonable story to tell. I have no idea what IP that would be since I don't play Nintendo, but there must surely be something with more depth to it than the rinse repeat rescue Princess Peach thing in Mario.
