So the "Fusion" thing had nothing to do with handheld, but with the Pokemon card game.
Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

If it's all digital, I'm done with Nintendo consoles.
Clearly to make use of cartridges, which I'm fine with because I like them.
I am not buying the NX regardless of what it is until i feel satisfied with the Wii U.
This is sounding alot like a Ouya.

It's a Nintendo console. If you want to play any future Mario, Zelda, Splatoon, Donkey Kong, Fire Emblem, Mario Kart, Pikmin, etc. etc. console games you'll have to buy one. If you can do without that, then hey good for you.
At the end of the day it doesn't really matter if the games come on cartridges, cards, sleeves, discs, digital only, tampon shaped format, whatever. It's where you're going to have to play if you want Nintendo games.
What are transfer rates like these days, are cards fast enough?

Someone replied to me saying PS4 has like 27m and SD has a max of about 60m or something like that while SD can hold 64gb and PS4 50gb
I think it would be interesting to return to cartridges, not like they're limiting at this time or anything. However, there raises an issue regarding the information in the cartridges if they're really gonna be used for both the handheld and console as some people on the net seem to be implying. Would that be such a good idea though if we only had one cart that essentially could be played anywhere? If there were someone who only wanted to purchase one form factor, let's say the handheld, you'll be paying for a game cart that will likely be more expensive than it should since it also carries the console information, yet you wouldn't care about the console data configuration because the console doesn't interest you. Will it be okay to sell these games to people who only have one form factor, and yet charge them for a huge amount of information in the game that won't ever be used? There just has to be a way where they will also sell cartridges separately that only carry one or the other form factors' information, otherwise that'll just be messed up of Nintendo to do.
LOL, It's a fusion
Because it works with either 3DS and Wii U
HDD to download game from Wii U eShop
And catridge slot is for 3DS games
Everything Iwata said makes sense right now !
Captain_Yuri said: Also no BC then since how can you play wiiU games without an optical disc? (Other than Digital that is) |
It'll have digital BC. That's all it needs. All digital purchases will transfer, just like I've been saying for over a year.
