The thing is though, I have plenty to play on my 3DS and I know this game is a flop and flops typically fall in price pretty quick. So cheap me is waiting for a third party seller on Amazon to go that low. Which they are almost there. |
Yeah, I still have quite a bit on my backlog too. (Conception II, Devil Survivor 2) which are super long RPG's so I get that.
I would probably end up doing the same though. Haha
Either way, you'll enjoy it when you get it.

The demo was good, and the worst problem with this game ( the long waiting after every turn) was already fixed a week after the release. So yeah it doesn´t seems like it deserve to bomb, but it lacks appealing, maybe the graphic style was not the best choice.

Becuase I like every Nintendo game I have played, and I never said it was exclusive to Nintendo, but this was about Codename S.T.E.A.M. (A Nintendo game).
Also can't really say much about other companies because I don't play much stuff on other platforms.

My first question still stands, and that was the most important one anyway.

Well Mario Party deserves it tbh, at least once, just to make a better one the next time because they are just getting worse.

Because Nintendo always puts out quality games? It's pretty simple.
With the exception of Animal Crossing: Amiibo Party.

The problem with S.T.E.A.M. was it's choices. It had a story and artstyle too cartoony and childish to appeal to adults, and a gameplay too deep and complicated for kids, so it didn't appeal to noone. Plus, its overreliance on american figures and references made it akward outside of that market.
Being a big fan of Valkyria Chronicles, I thought the game looked good from the very beginning. If I get a 3DS, it will be on my short-list.
However, I also understand why it bombed. The story and the art-style aren't going to appeal to very many people. It's just not very compelling material. If anything, I'd bet that most of the people who bought it did so in spite of the wrapping.
