Forums - Microsoft - Now is the right time to buy an Xbox One

Again, I've said this several times already, I am not bashing this article because it is "showing the Xbox a little love" (which btw stop portraying Xbox as the poor little victim here, the times of all Xbox press being negative press is long over, even if the idiots on r/xboxone love to still play that tune). And stop with the whole "there's no bashing of other platforms in there", that doesn't make the article less shit.

Do you not see how this article is telling people to buy an Xbox One now based on these things:

Halo 5, Forza 6, RoTR, QB, Scalebound, Sea of Thieves, Cuphead, the next season of KI, Recore, Gears 4, Crackdown 3, Halo Wars 2, Backwards Compatibility, Ark Survival on Xbox Preview, playing Fifa early (which he doesn't mention you need EA Access for btw), Windows 10 and Crossplay.

Now let's mark the stuff on this list that's actually out on X1 and could thus have fully been tested by the author

And that right there is my big problem here, have we not had enough of journalists mindlessly hyping stuff and trying to sell us on stuff without having fully tested it (hey guys Destiny/Watch Dogs will be the best thing since sliced bread better buy it as soon as it comes out...oh wait), I mean companies have marketing departments for that shit, I don't need some journalist that is supposed to be impartial here to do that job for them. I mean FFS that dude is literally telling people that they should not wait to play the new Tomb Raider but that they have to get it as soon as they can (because we haven't been burned by that attitude recently, right?).

People buy systems knowing great games are coming no? Even if they are not out yet it's ok to be excited and buy a console knowing your games are coming on top of the ones already out and features only available on the console.

You are trying too hard, let it go. Btw I would try to edit that post unless you really want to call people from XR idiots.

It's one thing for someone to buy a system based on future games, it's a whole nother thing to write an article for a popular gaming website telling other people to buy the system based on those games and features, when you have no possible way of knowing how good the finished games and features will be. Do you not see the difference between spending your own money and telling other people to spend their money on something?

And I completely stand by what I said about the xboxone subreddit, I don't know if you've been there, but in my experience that place, much like a lot of other subreddits, is filled with many, many less than smart people.

Still too early to buy either a One or a PS4, in my opinion. Not nearly enough good games to shell out 300-400$ on either.

To me that article serves as a window for those wanting to know what is coming and why they should invest in an Xbox. Anyway I don't see the problem with it other than it was poorly executed. Like there are so many good videogame writers and/or journalists... if we were to point out every bad writen articles about videogames it would be endless. So called journalists try hard to convince one user base of the value or lack there off of their prefered or hated console... I hope you have consistency and will call all of them...

As for people from XR... I'm part of that thread and like it a lot. I liked it more before it changed but it's still a nice place to discuss Xbox related stuff. You have the right to not like it but calling every user an idiot is reaching imo. Without XR a lot of XB fans would've left VGC, myself included. No need to explain why.

Dude...that was one of my first posts in this thread...that my problem isn't with the premise of article but with the execution.

And I'm not talking about the Xbox Republic thread on VGC, I'm talking about the r/xboxone subreddit on Reddit.

Not a great article, not the content, but the way it's been written, so much hyperbole.

If I was thinking about getting one, I would certainly wait until near Black Friday just because of the basis of the deals last year, they were crazy and why would you waste so much money with it just around the corner.

You talked about reddit some in the past negatively. Why do you keep going back? Xbox part especially. Do you think ppl want to hear you complain about apart of the Internet we probably don't care about on Vgchartz?(maybe they do)

I don't think he meant right away. More now like it's ok to purchase an Xbox 1. No need to look at it as a NO kinda thing. I don't see anything wrong with the article. Read it and moved on. Everyone who reads it has the ability to look up those games and see if the system is worth it like the writer says. This has blown up imo into something silly

It's nice to see Microsoft finally get a console redesign right with the Halo 5 Xbox One bundle. That Forza 6 consoles, I swear there been a mistake at the factory and they used the wrong color of blue. The console should be metallic blue like the Ford GT on the cover.... that Forza 6 console color is damn ugly.

This article is awful, mostly because it isn't true. Now is not the time to buy an Xbox One...at least wait for the holidays so you can get a deal. Buying one now would be dumb...
