Pretty sure Nintendo is securing this franchise. I just want them to secure a deal for Capcom to make an exclusive home console MH....

No because if Capcom "doesn't have the resources" to develop SF5 without Sony's help, then how can they make a full scale console Monster Hunter? The game will stay on the 3DS unless Sony or Nintendo funds a console version.

Capcom doesn't have that kind of development muscle anymore, and it's definitely showing given what they've released for 8th gen consoles so far.

I see no reason for Capcom to not make it multiplat when making a profit is a lot more harder than it used to be ...

Even a straight up raw port from the portable versions with no technical enhancements aside from 1080p and 60FPS should be able to pull off 500K units on the PS4 which can more than pay off the porting costs ...

Isn't capcom making a monster hunter spin-off for ps4 and xb1, or was that just and unfounded rumor?

I see no reason for Capcom not to release the next MH on 3ds AND vita. It wouldn't cost em that much to port it to vita I'm sure there is an audience for it there. The question is, will Ninty moneyhat them again? I think the damage on psvita is done already, so Ninty will have no reason to do that this time around.

I don't see them making a ps4 version though. Would be too expensive and wouldn't be that profitable.

I think the isssue is that in Japan people would own both handhelds. Your not necessarily selling more copies, just cutting a percentage of sales the 3ds and putting them on the Vita at more cost. You also remove the exclusive allure that does sell a few more copies.

Nintendos also been very good to monster hunter, especially with Western exposure.

Quite frankly I have no idea how many handhelds each Japanese  person has, but it seems like you do so I'll take your word for it.

I doubt it. Monster Hunter on PS4 would be very expensive. Monster Hunter on 3DS is not expensive and it sells better. And Monster Hunter was always a handheld series.

Shouldn't that apply to DQ as well?

This.

Too many years of bad decisions.

But we know that Dragon Quest games sell good on home consoles.
Monster Hunter games sold not good on PS2 and Wii U.
