So with this recent article and another stating that Microsoft's console was the most watched conference on twitch, does it mean that to general consumer, Microsoft has "Won" E3? What do you guys think?

I don't know if you'r serious or not.

Of course Ms conference would be most watched than sony, sony conf was at 4 am for europeans. 4 am. I watched it next day like most of others.

And to the general consumer :

Youtube is more casual-friendly than twitch.

I'm just asking the question :P. I don't think that Microsoft 'won" E3 but while YouTube views show a huge gap between Sony and Microsoft, I don't think that the overall gap between both console manufacturers is that huge.

The gap in USA is currently 600-700k - considering where Sony were last gen and the gap that they ended up (was it something like over 12m+) then even sony being in front by 700k is massive.

Youtube videos are international, the gap is massive, if we move away from NPD, then that youtube gap totally reflects what's going on worldwide in terms of XBO and PS4. Unfortunately many people get so focussed on USA because that and the UK are the only places where XBO is within a reasonable gap number, everywhere else it's a bloodbath....

One reason: Batman bundle

Ah, okay, makes sense. I wonder why they do that? If they count the bundle then they might as well count the software sold due to the bundle.

I explained in the other post...

It is due the revenue... when you buy a bundle you are paying for the hardware and not the software (this one is free)... official bundles of course.

Retail bundles counts for both hardware and software because you are paying for the 2 items.

The gap is at end of June 770k.

Not really when you look at the PS2 Xbox gap. Or by how much PS1 was ahead in its generation. Compared to those it just looks even.

Well maybe not in the USA but rest of the world... yeah it is PS1/PS2 levels. In some countries its between 5-10:1 different, thats crazy. Even at a 2:1 difference, that would make say a 80m/40m difference WW. So the outcome will be quite big in favour of PS4.

The Nintendo 64 was selling better than the PS1 firsts month. Even by a lot. Not only, it was selling better even than the XBO and very close with PS4.

AFTER 30 MONTH:

  • PS2 - 17,199,692
  • N64 - 10,980,990
  • XBOX - 8,600,581
  • PS - 8,419,373
  • GC - 7,386,869
  • DS - 4,069,265

Launches aligned the 360 was only about 900k ahead in the US at the same point in time.
