I've let the WiiU's disappointment go myself, I'll take what I'm interested in when it's released but I'm not expecting that the system will leave last place in my personal Nintendo console ranking anymore. I also don't care about it's sales anymore. It may continue to ba a Saturn-sized bomb or it may recover; whatever. I never thought there would be a moment when I would wish we were back in the era of my previous least favorite Nintendo console, the GameCube, but here it is. WiiU is a farcry from what the Wii has to offer, that's for sure. It had a few good games, but as of yet few that are really special.

So in other words, you like consoles solely based on their sales. Shame on you.

I don't think I said that anywhere in that post.

It all points towards that.

Yet the Wii isn't my favorite Nintendo console so there goes that. When I made up my mind that GameCube was my least favorite Nintendo, it was 2004, and I didn't know the next thing about how well (or not) it was selling. A mere coincidence. I might as well say, because you apparently like WiiU and not the Wii, that you feel the need to root for the crippled one because otherwise it's just too sad for the poor guy.

Congrats Wii U it truly deserves more, an excellent console filled with excellent games and my favorite game of all time.

I go with 12 million +

Probably 11M by 2016

11.5 to 12 million. You can't say that it won't sell past 11 million.

Can't wait for The Zelder Scrolls 3: Breath of The Wild Hunt!

Um, on topic, I think 12 million.

Oh, yeah. There was a point to this thread! lol

My guess was 12m.

There's always the possibility that "Mario Maker" really takes off, though. If that coincides with a price cut, we could be looking at 13m+ (not holding my breath).

As pointed out in another thread the Wii U turned 3 years old yesterday. We now he 6-7 weeks until the end of the year with current Wii U sales 10.7 million units.
The comments in this read were made 4 months ago - seems that the most popular responses of between 11-12 million units by the end of 2015 were on the money. Does anyone think anything over 12 million is still a possibility? Nintendo consoles do have a habit of selling well in the holiday period.

Beyond 12 million is asking a lot for no price cut or major hardware pushing software. I'd love to be surprised but highly dubious am I.

Wii U on 31. September was at 10.7m, Wii U last 2 holiday quarters was sold around 2m, this holiday quarter even without strong title like previous holiday quarters I believe it will sell around 1.5m. So I will be very surprised if Wii U dont pass 12m at end of year because only needs to sell 1.3m in quarter in which Nintendo usually have better sales than in all previous quarters combine, and we already know that in last 2 quarters Wii U sold 1.12m.

Saying that, I think Wii U will be around 12.5m at end of year.

Almost half of the people voted 12m or more? OMG haha that's pretty far off. The strange thing is Splatoon did better then most expected, but i guess it didn't move much hardware.

Way is that far of!? Wii U will pass 12m at end of year, on September 31. was at 10.7m, so need only 1.3m in holiday quarter.

And Splatoon moved some quite number of consoles in Japan.
