The lineups are pretty even to me. Nintendo has the games that appeal to me the most so I'd give it to them. Sony had the best conference, no contest.
The NWC and three days of Treehouse were excellent so overall I prefer Nintendo. But that's just, like, my opinion, man.

Well, considering how strong the Sony fan presence is on the web, it's fascinating that both MS and Nintendo could get so many votes :).

its the truth. bad doesnt even come to describe their E3 this year.

Seems some are still struggling to accept that Microsoft had a great E3. Great work Phil and the whole Xbox team! :)

Pretty much this.
It must be the only US site where it's so high.

I was in the post-conference PS4 E3 thread and let me tell you: it was a shithole. Nothing but hate on Sony's conference, and anyone that said "omg I can't believe that FFVII is real!" or "Shenmue 3! It's a fantasy become reality! I'm so glad it was revealed!"....you got downvoted. Seriously? The two biggest megatons in the last decade, announced for PS4, and your excitement for them gets you downvotes? In the PS4 subreddit? I came to the conclusion that the sub was raided by /r/XboxOne. Comments that went to the top were "Sony sucked" or "Xbox announced BC and that's better than everything". In a PS4 sub, the visibility of those comments was utter bullshit. /r/XboxOne, despite it's smaller community has been very petty in the past. Positive Xbox comments in any other thread in /r/PS4 would get upvotes, while positive PS4 comments in any other thread /r/XboxOne will get you downvoted, so you can see their tendencies. So, when you see someone say "this is the first time I've heard someone say Sony won"....it's literally because it was their first time, because all the comments saying Sony won, right after E3 were downvoted. Positive comments for FFVII, Horizon, Shenmue 3, and Uncharted 4 were downvoted. But now that the E3 furor is over, if you mention something positive about Sony's E3 or FFVII, for example, you'll get a response like "that's what I was thinking. So why was Sony getting shat on, here, after E3". Now that /r/XboxOne subscribers aren't flooding the PS4 sub, you'll see people saying Sony won. This sounds really conspiracy-ish, but there's no other explanation. You don't have a community of people who have waited 10 years for the FFVII remake, then have comments showing excitement for it getting buried. But, you see, the difference between /r/PS4 and /r/XboxOne is that you have to be a subscriber to downvote in /r/XboxOne, while you don't for /r/PS4. Sure, it's just the click of a button, when you can just come in and downvote everything in one sub and have to take the extra step to do the same in another sub, it's kinda like typing out a long comment then right before you hit "enter" you delete it because you think to yourself "eh, I don't really care". That's what it's like, sometimes, going to a sub where you can't downvote unless you subscribe: eh, I don't care to go the extra step just to do something here. In /r/PS4, there is no extra step. |
Honestly I know what you're saying, I also saw that thread and couldn't believe what I was seeing, the negativity towards that conference in there was absolutely ridiculous. At first I thought the reason had something to do with the age of the people in that sub, meaning that younger people might not have the connection to those 3 games to really grasp how massive those announcements were. But then a couple days later we get this thread which leads me to assume that people do in fact get it, which really leaves me wondering if people from the xbox sub simply brigaded the post E3 thread, it certainly doesn't seem that unlikely.
I don't like this whole "we're better than them"-mentality, because I feel it's absolute bullshit, especially with something as miniscule as gaming preference, but the amount of pettiness I've seen on r/xboxone after E3 is just staggering, just look at these comments (check all of them out, also the ones at the bottom, but be careful if you've got anger issues lol) it is like in freaking kindergarten. I'm willing to say that depending on preferences you can say that it's maybe a toss up between the 2 conferences but to not even be able to acknowledge that Sony had one hell of a show speaks either of a distinct lack of gaming knowledge or just plain blind fanboyism.

Seems like plenty to me. I mean it's a down year Playstation wise but Until Dawn, Tearaway (half new content), and Rime look really interesting this year. |
yeah..
you and i both know that is a pretty weak lineup.. i mean, lets just be honest here. we both know that it isn't plenty. they built hype around these titles that are in the distant future, and again, i just find it interesting that people are so willing to overlook the fact that they havent left us with anything for this current year which is only half way over.
