Forums - Sales - The Reason Why Nintendo Can't Get 3rd Party Games

the reason is because the hardware since the wii, is weaker. In the gamecube era it got most 3rd party games that were released.

The NIntendo gamers think its a joke. These games have been developed on the PC level since the PS3/360 era (which is why it has taken Japan so long to adapt). Western developers were already there. When third parties made requests, they laid out the level of a high level PC. The least Nintendo could've done was meet them at medium to low.

Nintendo had the power but did not have the disc space that the competitors had. They went for minidiscs when they should've gone for DVD's.

Still pushing that argument? If 3rd parties can't even bother to port PS360 games, then they aren't gonna port 8th gen only games either.

Fans of 3rd party core titles have little interest in Wii U. That's an audience Xbox and Playstation have consumed. The people that buy Wii U primarily just want Nintendo games and other similar experiences. A few will dabble in the core software available on that platform, but not enough.

GameCube did have good third party support it had pretty much all the popular Western third party stuff minus GTA. From Japan they had Resident Evil exclusivity, Viewtiful Joe exclusive for a year, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes, Tales of Symphonia, Phantasy Star Online exclusive, Sonic, etc.

GameCube released a year too late, with a off-putting toy-like design, and they made mistakes with Zelda and Mario and not making a proper successor to GoldenEye/Perfect Dark. Also losing Rare and getting no one to replace them was problematic.

So they made a lot of errors with the GameCube which cost them.

SNES, NES, and GameCube all had good third party support.

N64, Wii, and Wii U did not, but there are clear reasons for that ... the N64 because of cartridges, Wii and Wii U because they're a full generation underpowered versus their competition.

Well, since Nintendo games sell on Nintendo systems, just make games that appeal to Nintendo's audience to sell on a Nintendo system.

Can't wait for The Zelder Scrolls 3: Breath of The Wild Hunt!

Thats the problem. Why should Nintendo be treated differently especially seeing that they aren't winning the right gamers over to them?

That would be the ideal situation, but lets be real people:

1) Nintendo will never release a 300$+ console again, rumors sugest that they are aiming at a 150$ NX, you dont have to be a tech wiz to know that the console will be utter shit spec wise. Can you imagine Nintendo pulling a Sony with the Ps3 launching the console at 600$? Like the Chris Brown song "These Hoes aint Loyal", the console would sell less than a thousand. Big difference between both fan bases.

2) Nintendo exclusives dont require any kind of processing power, hence the size of their games (1-2 gigs).

3) If Nintendo pulls a Wii U again, you can expect that a big chunk of the console price will be a gimmick like the gamepad, that even Nintendo ignores into their games.

4) if Nintendo wants to be competitive, they have to release a equivalent console powerwise with Sony and Microsodt, but how? They either wait for the Ps5 to be revealed and launch a similar console, OR they launch again mid gen and be obsolete in a couple of years and be left alone by third parties.

5) Either way, at the end of the day these people have to vote with their wallets and actually spend MONEY on games. There is no secret about it.

Yes, or games like Just Dance which still sell millions and is one of the VERY few franchises that still releases on the old Wii.
