Forums - Movies & TV - Jurassic World was absolute garbage

Beginning is an awful series of uninspired overused tropes, but I guess it was mandatory in the sequel of a sequel of a sequel.
The middle part had really good shoots, with some horror and sometimes really inspired angles.
Than the end destroyed it all, with serious power of friendship shit and predictable as fuck script.

Not everything was garbage. I still don't want to see this film ever again though.

There were so many holes in that movie...

Why did that kid make such a big deal about leaving his girlfriend and then spend the rest of the movie just staring weirdly at other girls?

Because he was a horny teen and there really wasn't that big of a deal that he made when he left.

Why did they go through that hole in the fence at god damn dinosaur park?

Because kids and teenage grandstanding.

How on earth did those flying dinosaurs pick up people?

Shown to have claws.

Actually, why would those flying dinosaurs immediately know to fly all the way across the island and attack these people?

The flocked in the direction that the window got broken. Just happened to be the same direction.

Why was the only helicopter pilot on the whole damn island the instructor who mysteriously goes missing halfway through the film?

Because the rest were from the military team and they kinda had their own shit going on after that. Helicopters weren't of big use there, on account of BIG NOISY THINGS OVER GIANT LIZARDS!

How on earth did that woman run through the jungle in heels?

Buuhuuu, movie logic. Big deal.

Why didn't her closes get dirty during that whole ordeal?

Why was everyone totally okay with watching that dinosaur kill and eat a live goat? What the fuck is wrong with those people? Where's PETA in all this?

Because they came to see a big, hulking carnivorous dinosau kill a small, helpless animal. Kinda law of the nature and stuff. Would you go to a dinosaur park just to see them being thrown some meat? Or would you prefer something more natural? Like a safari.

Why did they just let Vincent D'Onofrios character die? Sure, he was a dick, but he's still a person and Chris Pratt had a fucking gun that he could have easily saved him with or idk, use his amazing raptor whisperer powers to stop it from killing him but NOPE! They just let some dude get eaten cause....shut up.

Shoot the raptor and attract more attention from the asshole to yourself. Sure, great idea.

If the bad dinosaur had some genetic link to the raptors that let it take control of them from Starlord, why was it then so easy for him to take control back? Is HE part raptor? Is that what they were getting at during the end of Guardians?

Because it was to emphasize how they were smart enough to care, like dogs. The iRex didn't take control, it wasn't mind related or anything...he was just recognized as kin.

Jesus, the more I think about this movie the worse it was.

The more you think, the more pretentious you seem. Yeah, the film was dumb and loud. It's called entertainment. If you didn't know this getting in, I'm surprised you managed to stay through the whole thing.

Fuck Jimmy Fallon! He's being pushed on us even in movies. He destroys my brain cells.

Other than that my wife and I really enjoyed the movie. Even if the actual plot was meh. But there was a lot of redeeming moments in the movie.

This movie was so so bad.

- The pacing was very poor and there wasn't even enough action. It's a sluggish at points.

- The whole talking to dinosaur stuff was so silly, it wasn't even possible to suspend disbelief even for a moment. The cheesy dialogue didn't make it any better.

- What about Vincent D'Onofrio and his plan to use raptors as army weaponry despite the fact that he saw that they could not be controlled?

- That stupid kid was very annoying.

This is a movie that has 7.4 on imdb.

2015 has been very, very poor in terms of blockbusters this year.

mad max?

I thought it was ok, not great. Last year we had X-Men: DoFP, RotPotA and Edge of Tomorrow.

I enjoyed the movie. Most of the points are pretty much covered I just believe the OP just didnt like the movie which is ok but the reasons seem hollow.

Probably most annoying to me was that arlier in the movie even Owen was risking his life by stepping into the cage with the raptors for just a short moment. Then all of a sudden later they can just drive between them on motorcycles?

Well I'm no trainer but the concept made sense to me. These are wild animals being trained. They were trained for years to go after a scent and to follow orders by Prat. The opening bunny scene kinda established that. So later in the movie, again after being trained so long to follow orders they did not go after the humans because they had a goal.

Now the guy falling in the pit was not something they were accustomed to. And just like any wild animal, instincts kick in. I mean the best animal trainers in today's world are attacked and killed if something goes wrong.

Anyways that's my opinion.

I enjoyed the movies, they're were several parts that I enjoyed such as:

1) When the IRex broke out.

2) when it destroyed the elite team of soldiers, the camouflage thing really got me by suprise.

3) When they found the dying Dinosaur and stayed with it until it died. That part reminded me alot of the first movie with the triceratop (or whatever).

4) when the kids are at the original park.

5) the shot of when the heli crashed and the Irex running from where the chopter was falling.

6) The part when the pterodactyl was carrying the assistant and then came the mososauris and ate them both. Holy shit that part was good.

7) The final showdown of Mutant Dinosaur vs two of the top predators 85 million years ago.

Overall? Yeah it had some flaws but it had many redeeming qualities. It's the best Jurassic Parl sequel in my opinion.

The only part I didn't like? When the flying demons from Satan's throne were attacking the poor innocent baby Triceratop.

Also not saying that your opinion is wrong or anything but most of your complaints of the plot are actually shown or can be explained but you either didn't pay attention because you were complaining about it or you simply didn't care. For example the part about the kid and girlfriend, if you saw the way the family and the kid were acting you would realize the kid didn't give a f*ck about her. Basically that kid was put in the movie for us to hate him.

And last but not least, Pterodactyls have claws that they used to catch their prey. That's how they managed to grab people albeit for not that long and not that high.

I didn't know what to think of the Jimmy Fallon part tho. i found it amusing at first when he appeared but then it was meh.

I thought it was fun and enjoyable. Better than Lost World or III, in my personal opinion. Judging each movie for its time, I would rank them like this:

Jurassic Park
Jurassic World
Jurassic Park III
Jurassic Park: The Lost World

But if I had to pick one to watch now, I would watch Jurassic World again, because I went back to watch the other 3 recently and they're all just so dated...even the first one. Just my opinion though. Everyone is entitled to theirs. :)
