Forums - Nintendo - Rumor: Nintendo started talking with third-parties about NX at E3, positive reception; NX more than a year away

Nintendo will always get positive reaction from their partners.

I mean even WiiU's early reaction from developres was positive, don't read too much into it.

^^ this.

Looking like a 2017-2018 release.... which seems too far off.... the wii-u is going to have to last a long time.

Not a chance in hell Nintendo rides the Wii U that long. 3DS is fading fast too. If they want any chance of hitting profit margins and being able to pay dividends (I realize people here really don't pay attention to this stuff, thinking only about Nintendo VS Sony Vs MS!, but it's far more relevant) to shareholders they need new hardware and it needs to sell better than what the Wii U + 3DS are right now.

Right now, Wii U + 3DS hardware sales are Nintendo's lowest per year since they started making handhelds to go with consoles. Since 1989 ... in other words ... that's very bad.

Are these eastern or western third-parties? Handheld or home console third parties? New or old third parties?

Did Nintendo learn from the Wii U "third party" console design? Off with the Fusion~

So you believe it's releasing next year then? Because I cant see any way it's releasing next year, so thats 2017 at the earliest.

Nintendo are delusional,Nintendo really should just forget thirdparties for  NX. Thirdparty games haven't sold well for them long before Wii U came around.

Things will only change if Nintendo change... to get 3rd parties on board you need to build a device that is powerful enough to meet current hardware and put in cash to support games. You need to build a library and unfortunately that requires some cash to do that.

A report coming from Fortune claims that Nintendo “just started talking” about the NX with third-parties at E3 2015. The site goes on to say that the reception “was positive” based on what was heard from insiders.

Here’s the relevant excerpt:

The problem for Nintendo is the NX’s launch is at least a year away—likely more, as the company reportedly just started talking about it with third party partners at this year’s E3. (The reception, say insiders, was positive.)

Even assuming Fortune’s report is accurate, don’t expect to hear about NX anytime soon. Nintendo has said that the system will not be unveiled until next year.

Pretty interesting info, if true, I hope this is not the first time they have had open conversations with them about the NX. also, NX might be 2017 according to the report.

I really hope someone watches this... it puts things into perspective:

Nintendo has cash, and nintendo is the company that changes the most in alot of aspects, it doesnt have good third party support now, but how can we know for sure that will always be like that, you people just to conclusions sooo fast

Not sure where you are reading my text wrong... "Things will only change if Nintendo Change"... basically this is in the hands of Nintendo. They had tons of cash at the end of the Wii, but didnt put much into 3rd party development. They might do this time, but considering there past performances, it's possible they wont.

So no one is jumping to conclusions too fast, just going to the conclusion that based on their past decisions seems most likely. Could they invest heavily into 3rd party... sure its possible... likely... not if we base it on previous things they have done.

So no one is jumping to any conclusions too fast.
