Here is how the real story goes:
-Shenmue 3 KS campaign would've happened with or without SONY.
-SONY is still pondering how deeper they are willing to be involved in this, I can't blame them, the number of backers so far: 45,055 backers. That's nothing considering the hype and the huge media exposure the KS project got. In addition, this is an established IP...
-MS gaming division is getting budget cuts left and right, to assume that they would've funded the whole project is foolish at this point.
-You are a SEGA fan, you will always feel angry.

Like Fumito Ueda or the poor guy for Unravel. They're creative people, they don't belong to an E3 stage!

I love how Sony was deemed a hero for supporting this kickstarted but, now that everyone has caght up on this whole shady thing, Sony has nothing to do with it. AWWWWW poor Sony, so innocent. Those Susuki and Sega hooligans getting Saint Sony into trouble.

The PRO GAMER image is doing sp well for the PS4. SONY is making sure to ride the wave until the end.

E3 is about hype and fooling excited souls. 3 announcements of games that are so early in their development painted SONY in a positive light in every media outlet.  I'd call that genius.

Wut? Didn't you listen to the E3 conference? Adam Boyes said "It's pretty much their project, but we want to celebrate their announcement on our stage". From the start, Sony was associated with marketing and launching the KS, and it's a genius move (combined with TLG and FF7). But they never said that they were really involved in the game. 

Almost as good as the people trying to paint Sony as the devil here, because clearly not moving a finger to get the game done (like pretty much every other publisher has done in the last 14 years) is clearly better than this. Fuck Sony for helping with this project.

Most of everything you said in that post went in one ear and out the other. The last part I did get though. That's the spirit.

Sega is not involved with Shenmue 3 :P

But I think the game will be one of the best things Yu Susuki ever created.

Kickstarter or not... that doesn't matter for me.
