I agree that's almost guaranteed, but it will only be 100% defined after both PS3 and 360 get discontinued. If, by a miracle, one of them managed to pass the Wii, it would be declared the winner.

The only way to define a winner is the final shipment data. Any data before is a random pick. You can't say "hey, it ended here", unless all three are discontinued.

Tecnically, even if PS3 will hit 100 million ( and at this point i think has under 1% chance for happen ) , Wii will still wIn, because the Wii will end at +102million shipped. (it is at 101.52m as for now)

While I give you props for the prediction, did you predict that they wouldn't drop the price again?  Sony is baffling me with this year after year.  How can the 12gb still be the only one that is $200?  People want the PS3 they can actually use to be under $200.  Hell it should just be cut $100 at this point and give them a big boost in devloping nations and for cheapos in the US and Europe zones.

Sony lost a fortune on the Ps3, what possible incentive can they have for cutting the little profit margin they have on a console at its end of life. Increasing ps3 sales has no benefit for them, especially if it is at the cost of profit. PS3 will limp over the 90m line but that is about it.

Nope. It's selling less and less. Outside holidays it sells on par with Wii U, so for it to achieve 100m Wii U would also need to reach 25m+, which is not going to happen either...



Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

So Sony can release a console if PS4 is about to be overtaken and will win because of that?  Just because one maker wants to move on doesn't stop their previous gen from existing lol.  Man if Nintendo had just released another console before PS4 overtook WiiU they would have won gen 8!
