The 7th generation is not over. Wii, PS3, and 360 consoles are still being sold. I still game on PS3, and new games are still coming to PS3/360. Major 3rd party games, in fact. 

Worldwide is what counts, not just America. The order of console sales are as follows: Wii, PS3, 360. 360 is the loser of the 7th generation at this point. I think it will stay that way. 

Europe has a similar market for console sales. Asia makes up a sizable percentage as well. I'm an American myself, but the game business is made up of many countries. Europe and Asia outweigh America.

And we have to consider difference in prices and currencies. While price for games in NA is fixed in 60$, many games highly expected games in Japan goes for 80$ or even 100$ in some cases. Europe is common to see games at 69 Euros or even 79...

Exactly.  People who keep relying on a price drop for this benchmark to occur need to realize that the bill of materials for the PS3 can only go so low without losing money - and there's no way Sony is going to take any kind of loss on the PS3 at this point.

100m for PS3 just ain't in the cards.

Nope, extremely unlikely. It'll bearly reach 90 million and then some. PS4 is causing PS3's quick death in the biggest markets. Sure there's the smaller markets, but it's not gonna take off there.
