so ps3 sold 3 million last year and weekly sales are consistently about 1/2 of what they were at this point last year. You still think it's gonna sell another 14.3 million? I'd really like for someone to break down those numbers and tell me how it's gonna sell each year to reach 100 million. The system is on it's last legs just face it. PS3 looked good until the PS4 came out and was so successful. The PS3 is old and last gen is long in the tooth.

In the other? Well, it's because it's still possible, just unlikely. PS2 sold 50M units after PS3 was released, while the PS1 sold almost 30M. As long as the device is sold for a long time, it's possible. Anyway, I don't think I'm gonna win that one, but if I do... it would be epic!

I'm even doubting it will crack 90m at this point. Either way longevity is the only way it stands a chance of even seeing Wii on the horizon.

With slowing sales PS1 also had to cut its price to clearence-like pricing (MSRP $49/£49) to get it's last ~13 Million sold.  

Without it's official $49/£49 price points the PS1 likely would not have crossed the 100M mark before the end.
