Forums - Gaming - Star Fox Wii U (2015) hardly looks better than Star Fox Assault (2005)

There is a reason why Dolphin is arguably the best emulator out there and that is why people should stop using bullshots to try and prove a point

Uncharted 4 looks hardly any better than Uncharted 3

Is it just me or does it seem like sf assault is a little faster paced?

Not faster paced, but there are more enemies. At the treehouse they stated the builds were early too and that there were going to be more enemies added before the game releases.

Ah. Definitely more enemy density in assault. Never played assault or adventures. My local game exchange has adventures for $15

It looks terribad.... Lol I cannot believe that is what a union of platinum games and nintendo looks like. Straight garbage.

And? It can be a good game with not-so-good visuals. People seem to forget that the game is running in two screens at 60fps. And I'm glad that they decided to cut visuals in order to get a stable 60fps experience, they could have improved visuals with a 30fps experience, like a lot of developers do nowadays, and there wouldn't be such a drama.

EDIT: By the way, you can't use Dolphin emulator to prove this point. It's useless.

I didn't forget that at all. Can it be a good game still? Maybe. But it would be like Jurassic world having stop motion claymation dinosaurs instead of computer generated ones. Nintendo needs to get with the times. I don't want to play Gamecube with a different controller for 15 years! Progress please... Not only that, they have a weak system but Starfox looks bad even for a Wii U game. Mario Kart 8 proves they can do way better as does Bayonetta 2 as does Xenoblade X.

Star Fox: Zero looks fine, honestly. Not to mention that Star Fox: Assault has been natively upscaled to 1080P ( Source material was at best 480P ) and the levels in Star Fox: Zero are more varied per stage and have a lot more stuff going on at any given point in time.

And you just used the word 'terribad'.  You are 28.  Don't do that to yourself.

I don't think it looks that bad, all the games you mention I'm sure that they have more budget, and obviously the visuals are better. Star Fox was never a high-budget game, it's a mid-tier game and obviously it's not GC level, Dolphin doesn't count.... It could look better with more money and development time, but it's what it is. Let's hope the gameplay will be addictive enough. The performance will be great, as every Nintendo game this gen, so fuck the visuals, I want that amazing shoot'em up experience that was Star Fox 64.
