Forums - Nintendo - Miyamoto: games nowadays look so realistic that they all look the same

What a unique combination of Saltiness, Jealousy and Bullshit. Trying to sidestep the question of Starfox extremely lacking in the looks department by trying to deflect onto something else. Add that to Reggies "uniqueness" interview the other day and these guys really are in a tizzy after getting slaughtered at E3.

Thanks jlmurph!

miyamoto jealous of a bunch of no-talent hacks? i don't think so.

And who would be the no-talent hacks?

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Is he salty because of the negative comments his Star Fox gets? How does the new Ratchet game look similar to the original one?

I get what he's trying to say, and he has a point, but for the most part he is wrong.

Realistic games don't look the same, and many of you have already post examples of that, and just because a game is made to look cartoony doesn't mean that it will be different and stand out from the rest. Besides, people that complained about the game didn't do it because of the art style but because the game simply doesn't look up to the usual Nintendo standarts.

Not to mention the fact that Nintendo titles look very, very similar to one another.

Super Mario Galaxy:

Super Mario Galaxy 2:

Super Mario 3D World:

Not exactly mindblowing variety in the look of most of their core franchises. Their games look quite different from others' games but their own games look extremely similar to one another in many cases so his point is still lost in the sea of irony.

This statement is so true, but it's not the realism but the creativity between the graphics when deciding if they look the same or not. Take the Witcher or Dragon age. I honestly see no difference in graphics because they both look like they take place in the same era with little to no unique creativity.

Nintendo, however, knows how to stay with the generational graphics, creating superb games like Mario 3D World, and now Star Fox Zero.

Why are people bringing up certain specific games when Miyamoto didn't? All he said in the link provided was “A lot of games nowadays look so realistic that they all look the same”? I see people then bringing up SPECIFIC games as though Miyamoto were referring to those. He was not so why are users doing it here?

It makes me want to pull my hair out how users are extrapolating what Miyamoto said.

Yeah, that one made me chuckle, too.  That was just straight up untrue.

Sadly he is getting old and his not at all in phase with modern videogames.

Are people here just looking for something to argue about?
