your point 2 is troubling.

Nintendo should have already gotten feedback from 3rd parties since they all jumped ship. If they need feedback in 2016 then it is already too late.

Reread PLS! Feedback from gamers (after announcing new console). 3rd parties are for building relations. in current condition i'd say its building from scratch. Also if showing next console on E3 - it needs games to be shown. So that means to announce next console next e3 and release it in 2017, some first wave of devkits must be at 3rd parties at least end of this year/start of 2016.

im just going to make this short.

nintendos next consoles needs to be released same year as the competition or in other words same year as sonys new home consoles.

Keiner kann ihn bremsen, keiner macht ihm was vor. Immer der richtige Schuss, immer zur richtigen Zeit. Superfussball, Fairer Fussball. Er ist unser Torschützenkönig und Held.

All I can see is Nintendo is already off to a marketing disaster if people cant even figure out if it is a console or a handheld.

psn- tokila

add me, the more the merrier.

Reggie himself said that Nintendo is working hard on their next console and will announce it later. NX could be that console. Or it could be a part of a new ecosystem including what they are doing with DeNA. Either way Wii U looks like its on its home stretch before being retired in 2016.

Still clinging to the Wii U? E3 taught you nothing?

It taught me that 2015 has like 9 Wii U exlusives and it´s not worth it to purchase a PS4 before 2016

I agree with you. Since both the gamers and developers will be ready to move to the next generation. Getting a head start doesnt quite work well imo. Byt Nintendo always has the handheld side which im not sure where it is heading.

I think its a big misunderstanding of what Nintendo authoriries were saying.

1. I never saw Iwata saying NX is the console. He speaks of it as of platform.

Reggie refered to it as a console: "Our next console, NX, which we'll be talking about in 2016"

And Kensuke Tanabe pretty much confirmed that it is a home console: "If we started [Metroid Prime 4] for Wii U now, it would likely take three years or so. So it would likely now be on Nintendo's NX console," he said.

Obviously he is refering to NX as a home console, because there's no reasont to move development of a home console Metroid to a portable console. (Different market, controller, power, etc.)

Can you give me a direct link to Reggie's and Tanabe words?
Tanabe could be a mistranslation.

That Reggie quote sounds patched together and totally out of context. If Reggie had blatantly confirmed the NX to be a console successor, don't you think just about the entire internet would have been all over it saying "omg Wii U successor confirmed rip in peace Wii U"? Even if he had legitimately said it was a console, people would automatically assume it was the successor and we'd have the same types of posts. And I'm reasonably certain (read: entirely) that Kensuke Tanabe has no idea what the NX actually is seeing as I'm certain Nintendo would skewer anybody who even mistakenly released any information regarding officially unannounced anything. All because he is a sort of active Nintendo developer doesn't mean he is completely in the know about higher level things going on.

Also the informartion i'm finding on the internet on the NX is mostly spinning of facts by so called gaming journalists.

All I clearly see is that NX will be spoken about in 2016. Also Iwata saying about next nintendo console to be shown 2016. That doesn't mean that NX and that next console is the same thing.

Also nowhere is the information that next console will be a home console. WiiU is in problem, yes. But in 2 years 3DS will HARDLY need a succesor too. Even now its outdated from tech side and only great exclusive games are what saving it.

http://nintendoeverything.com/reggie-indicates-that-nx-is-a-home-console/

"Reggie: "We’ve also said publicly that we are already hard at work on our next home console and that’s another element we’ll be talking about much later."

The only new console they've already announced publically is the NX. Hence NX = the next home console.

Nintendo has literally never said the NX was a home console. You've assumed it must be a home console. Your leap in logic doesn't make for irrefutable fact.
