Forums - Gaming - I think my taste in games is changing

I've been struggling to find a game to play recently, not because I don't have enough games but because the majority of games in my collection just don't do it for me anymore.

I've been trying to find what exactly my taste is right now. I've always puzzle games like Broken Sword and more recently Ether One. I also like action/adventure games, PES, games with a good story (MGS, Heavy Rain) and the old style Resident Evil/Silent Hill. I kinda like driving games and the last 8 years I started to like FPS games.

Since E3 I have the urge to play Fallout. I had fallout but because I couldn't get on with it I sold it. I went through my download list and games that didn't interest before now seem really tempting to play (game I got with PS Plus). Right now I'm downloading Demon's Souls, which I played 10 minutes last year before deleting it from my HDD. Now I want to play it. I've just ordered Fallout New Vegas because now I want to play that.

So now it looks like I'm a RPG fan (after years of dabbling with the genre). I wouldn't say JPRG as it's not really my taste (although I did go through a phase of loving Legasista). What games old or new would you recommend? Any genre suggestions? Did any of you guys go through anything similar?

It happens. I used to be a big JRPG fan when I was younger but I eventually grew up and opened up to other genres. I still love JRPG's but now I also love platformers/survival horror/action/FPS/etc games.

It's normal, don't worry... you don't have to go to the doctor!

Switch that number to 2013 and that's me.

I'm afraid there won't be many people in the future saying "switch that number to 2015 and that's me", though.

Not after E3, anyways.

Hopefully 2016 is better.

Edit: Yeah, I'm an alternate timeline version of you. Or you're an alternate timeline version of me. Whichever.

I recommend Artificial Academy 2. If games are boring u, u may as well try an entirely new genre

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

get a copy of Xenoblade and the gaming soul in ur body will awake again (atleast this is what the game did to me)
lost interest to almost every game besides zelda, it is this game that revive my interest in gaming.

and after that i jump ship to nintendo completely as ps3 ruin few of my favorite franchises (FF, Ratchet and Clank etc). But the upcoming ps4 looks great, might buy it when i got the time and money

sry for my bad english - it is not my 1st language

Over the years my taste in games have expanded to almost every genre. So I recommend you at least try the best games of every genre to see whether or not you like it.

I don't really change my tastes, rather I have expanded them over the years.

yup same here. I don't even want either of the twins anymore. Wii U and PC has been the cure for me. Now I love gaming again.
