Forums - Gaming - I think my taste in games is changing

You might like Dragon's Dogma. It's a western style action JRPG. The game was fun and challenging but it's pretty much glitch free compared to western games. The dragons in the game are what I think dragons would be like. It's easier than any of the souls games but more difficult than most action rpgs. The enemies are massive and you can climb on them to attack. Those fights are epic. I wish that From Software would add that ability into the souls games. I get tired of attacking ankles and the unmentionables of massive enemies like a chihuahua.

Me too. This gen I am more into WRPG including the soul's series because they are action RPG. Last gen I was into COD and others FPS and TPS. Demon souls was the one that change my taste or maybe added a new genre.

It's OK to change you tastes. I used to consider platformers my favourite but now it's not even top 3.

I have to admit I've started to go full circle.

In the old days (amiga) I used to buy everything, every genre, it didnt matter. Then as i started with consoles I became a bit more narrow... but still buying lots.... in the last few years I've gone to buying games that I wouldnt normally because i want something different. Don't get me wrong I still love the big AAA games, but I am not restricting myself to just them, which is what I was doing for the start of the PS3 generation.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

I had some issues in the past too. I've been always a Nintendo fan until Wii came out. I didn't like it and I changed to PS3. That lasts like 3 years, I had a lot of fun with my PS3 but I felt it lacked something. So I was like 2 years without touching anything gaming-related, until WiiU came out. And I understood that I'm obviously a Nintendo fanboy... And even if I try to have an open mind about gaming in general, I play a lot on PC too, I feel like Nintendo is miles ahead of the rest of the companies (software-related XDD). The first time I've played SM3DW, it was an awesome feeling. That game was my comeback to the gaming world, and I'm now more inmersed into the videogame world than ever.

I went through this in the early 2010's and it resulted in me switching to Nintendo.

I've always been a Nintndo fan, but the bland nature of recent multiplats/FPSs has made the Wii U my main console again. I was in the GCN camp back in the day, but the 360 was my main console last gen and I'm completely burnt out on military games. Even "Destiny" plays too much like pro-war propoganda for my taste.
