No offense. But realistically speaking NX (if its home console) wont be powerful to PS4. Even if its powerful then it will be by a small margin. Next gen PS / Xbox will be minimum 32 RAM + 8 teraflop GPU. I dont think its possible for NX to compete with PS5. Nintendo will do their own race. If they wants to "compete" it wont be a nice sight to see.
$249 if this really is a fusion of console handheld i dont expect anything close to the power of PS4, I also think they will wanting to go cheap so they can fulfill the role of everybodys secondary console again.

Sorry, I didn't explain it well. What I was thinking was that, if Nintendo wants to get some multiplats and 3rd parties, they really needed to try and close the power gap. I don't think Nintendo will do that either. They make games fast enough to supply one console pretty well. The problem is that they can't really supply for two completely different machines and architectures. The Fusion idea could help a lot on that regard.
K. This is mostly my wishful thinking, I really don't know where Nintendo is going to go with it.
Launch 2017. I simply don't believe they're going to launch a new console right in the heat of 8th gen, i.e 2016. That'd be suicide not only because PS4 and X1 will be peaking but also because many Wii U owners will not be ready to buy a whole Nintendo system as the majority were bought in the last 16months.
Specs. So lets say (and I hope), Nintendo go for the core market. They'll release something roughly 3x the PS4, using AMDs future x86 Zen architecture on a 14nm chip, 8GB of HBM RAM, 4-5Teraflop GPU.
In fall 2017 I think this would translate into $399 at launch, more or less break even and profiting on software from day 1. The price is pretty high by Nintendo standards but this will work with their rebranding for a more cutting edge product, highly desired by everyone. Their fans are loyal and will certainly pay that money if the launch line up is strong. Beyond that, Nintendo fans who actually have broad tastes and normally would wait to buy their systems as a cheap secondary purchase will get it as the primary system. The specs will allow superior performance of current gen games and be ready for next gen, third parties will jump at the opportunity to have their games play on a console as they do on PC come 2017 and will support Nintendo whole heartedly. And successful launch from due to appealing to avid gamers will spiral into mass media acceptance and it'll sell 40-60m LT :p

Hopefully nothing over $300 and make it at least on par with the other two consoles. If Nintendo really wants to compete though, they need to invest in their online infrastructure. If they make a programmer friendly console that is just as powerful as the others, they may get more third party support plus their own wealth of exclusives to boot.

Third parties arent coming back to Nintendo. Wii U was last chance. Nintendo wasted the opportunity.

I wouldn't say "Nintendo wasted the opportunity" as much as "Nintendo's plan backfired completely", even if I really don't know what Nintendo was thinking. They tried to appeal the hardcore talking with 3rd parties, and appeal to the casual crowd with the tablet controller and the Wii brand. And in the end, they didn't get either.
