Just the fact that this guy is so passionate about this game makes me want it more.

I get all that, but I just don't see why I should care after the novelty wears off.

What i want to know is are there people to talk to?  Do they gives quests or requests?  Can I go on the main ship that is having a battle and ask someone who they are fighting and why.  Can I actually join sides and do something meaningful?

Feels like I'm just collecting resources to build ship ect to go to new planet and rinse and repeat to try and get to the center of galaxy.  Not talking to anyone ever.  Scanning animals and/or plants for no reason that I can see.  If I'm in space I randomly shoot enemies just for fun.

IDK, just feels like I'll visit like 10-12 planets and then be like "why am i doing this"  I need something to make me care, some connection emotionally or something.  It just feels like a mobil game otherwise, wher eyou basically just collecting resources and building, but in this case building is your ship to travel.

YOU are the motivation and YOU are the story. It's about that feeling of being a kid again in a world you want to explore but in order to explore you have to come to terms with the restrictions and limitations put upon you my life and society. Can't you remember being a kid and not needing a goal to explore? Can't you remember going into that forest or exploring that cave or daring to step over the threshold of the derelict house on the corner? Was there a goal when you did that or was it just an instinctive need to explore? What was your reward for doing those things? The answer is 'nothing' because you wanted to find something you had never seen before. This game is designed with that kid in mind.

It's in us all but games have made people forget our basic instict to find joy and happiness in 'not knowing'. The unknown is far more enlightening than the known and infinitely more interesting. I understand this game and embrace its premise because I still love that forest, that cave and that derelict house. If none of what I've just said means anything to you then buy another game because this isn't for you.

Is there word about an offline mode? I really don't want people to discover things in my universe before I have.

With trillions of planets, even if you play it for a year you're very unlikely to come across a planet someone else has already discovered, but having said that 'yes' you can play it offline. I still wouldn't be too bothered though because even if the planet has been discovered, not ALL of the planet will have been investigated. It's a little like wanting to go to the moon because some places on earth have been given a name. There may be caverns at the bottom of the ocean with rare creatures for instance.

It's a personal thing. I don't play online and I hate the feeling that there are others who could invade my game.

But if there is an offline mode, that's really nice. There are a lot of games out there that won't even consider offline gameplay.

I know but you're missing an opportunity for something extraordinry to happen. In all probablity it will NEVER happen but imagine having played the game for 6 months you suddenly see another human being.

One thing I want to know is can planets have different gravitational forces. I wonder if you can jump higher and longer on some planets.

I agree with the dude making the questions, theres no such thing as "you can do anything", its a game so it has a program behind it wich dictates all the rules of the universe the game is set in. Theres gota be things to do that are fun on each of the planets and on the galaxy itself cause just wandering around aimlessly is not fun at all. Not talking about any of the things you can do in the game is a diservice to the game itself as a bunch of ppl might pass on it cause they simply have no freaking idea what the game is even about. Any journalist not trying to get information about how this game actualy work to the public isnt a journalist at all.

I feel like ppl are beeing way too romantic about this game, it has rules and boundaries like any other game ever. It vast but not infinte and it does lack a goal or a point to all youre doing, youre exploring just because, some ppl like that other dont, trying to make it seen like the ones that like exploring for the sake of exploring are some kind of superior bread of gamer like the guy in the vidoe did is just pretentious and narrowminded.

"Kids these days...they don't care about achievement points, they don't care about trophies"

I'm sorry, but lol.

did the person in the video say that because if he did then hes dead wrong o.o

I don't think he's wrong. Kids spend more time on their tablets with fruit ninja, minecraft, and angry birds than they do on anything else. Those things don't have trophies or achievements.

Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,

The goal is to get to the centre of the universe to find out what is there. You're exploring to gain resources to help get to the centre of the universe. It's narrowminded to assume someone who gets it is somehow pretentious. If you need rules then there's a whole life out there full of them.

Oh they could make it without a doubt impossible.  A better platinum would be worldwide, everyone who owns the game gets the platinum when the final world is discovered.

Given the scope of the game... That will never happen. Even a group of millions of people couldn't do it in their lifetime.

That's what I meant by impossible :D
