They said Metroid is not in developement. Nothing more and nothing less.
I don't want another Prime. Great series but I'm done with First Person Metroid.
I would be hesitant to buy the NX seeing how the Wii U fared. No doubt the NX will have a killer launch but if it also fails to play catch up with the PS4 and XB1, then how long until they leave the NX out to dry and try once more? That's a very cynical and pessimistic look on the case but I guess time will tell if Nintendo can bounce back. A full fledged Metrod game would certainly appeal to many.
Wii U is surely going to be dead in three years, like the developer says. But how can you be so sure that NX will release in 2016? or how do you know it's going to be a handheld?
You don't get those answers from here, so you should change the thread's title. What we get from here is that there's no Metroid Prime in development.
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
Good news is that it's pretty much a confirmation that Metroid is in the early works. Bad news is that Wii U might not have a Metroid game.

You say that the big projects are being moved to the NX because Metroid is not in developement, that has no sense. |
That would make no sense if they had a new announcement at E3, they hadnt, that says a lot
Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:
PS4: 17m XB1: 10m WiiU: 10m Vita: 10m

The thing is your point could be valid but is supporting iself on a lie. Metroid has not being moved anyway, there was no plans for it, that´s all. Retro is probably doing another thing by now, and no one knows if it´s going to be a wiiu game or not.
Damn it... Just start working on the next metroid Prime already! >_>
